(6.0 spoiler?) what's the deal with platinum color?

So if anyone else remember, Yoshida hyped 3 things before endwalker. First is the platinum color, second is the Amano artwork of hydaelyn and zodiark, and last is "things on eorzea (pre-endwalker) that only Yoshida know, not even foxclon realize it". And he subtly implied those three are important for EW.

After finishing 6.0 though, I still don\\'t understand them. For hydaelyn and zodiark artwork, I guess it about "oh, that\\'s actually how they look like"?. Can\\'t find anything about platinum nor "things only Yoshida know" though.

Of interest, the Alchemical symbol for Platinum is a joined sun and moon. The sun is identical to Azem’s symbol..or rather the Azem symbol is the alchemical symbol for “Sun”.

I chalk it up to YoshiP having a soft spot for the more metaphysical things/symbolism.

On a completely unrelated note, I want a dog version of Emet-Selch. Argos was perfection.

Very likely; I can’t imagine it’s just “Look! Azem’s goin to the moon!”

In addition, I would say it’s a shade of grey (not black or white; somewhere between), and also the Japanese today sat “Platinum” for platinum,…but it can be referenced as “Shirogane” which means “white metal” and includes all other silvery metals like silver or white gold.

But hydaelyn is never symbolized as moon though. If you say it's Azem (sun) meeting past emet (representative of zodiark, which is the moon), I can understand that. Though it's still a stretch too imo.

Venat, and Themis's hair are platinum, sorta so is Emet's.

In terms of associations, platinum represents determination, grit, and seeing our manifestations to completion. Platinum in terms of alchemy meaning represents high achievement and reward for crafting our best selves. (Kaynide addressed this first) Very fitting overall with the path the MSQ went.

On top of a lot of the repeating nods to the alchemical suns / process of alchemy, it makes a lot of sense. One must be broken down and remade to reach perfection. Combine the virtues embodied by gold with the virtues of silver and you get the resulting platinum.

It's exceptionally easy to symbolize her as the moon after playing through the MSQ. She did make the thing, after all.

Venat is another Azem though so that'd be two suns (arguably white and red knowing her role) meeting, not the sun and moon.

Venat as Hydaelyn made the moon. Venat was also the previous Azem. If anything platinum symbolises her, when you take what I just said and platinum's alchemical symbol into consideration.
