Animations and Sound on Chaotic Spring and Heavens' Thrust

Is it just me, or do the new animations feel flashier, but less impactful? One of the reasons I love DRG is that each hit FEELS really solid, but both of these new attacks have more light/particle effects and less actual oomph - they just don't feel as visceral as Chaos Thrust and Full Thrust did. Makes the class feel a lot less fun/punchy to play to me. And did we need new animations? The new attacks are just potency upgrades to the existent ones, we didn't need them to change names.

Also, the harp riff on Chaotic Spring is terrible - you can't actually hear your hit, there's nothing else in the kit that makes that noise, it throws off my whole game because it sounds like someone randomly blew panpipes for no reason - why is the sound effect here so loud, and so unlike anything else DRG has?

I love DRG, have gained it all the way through my play-through of the game, but these new attacks...they're just making playing the class feel off to me. Not a fun experience as I wrap up an epic story to feel like I don't want to play my main class.

I do like old animations, but i like the number coming out ealier.

Full Thrust looks and sounds so much heavier and stronger than Heavens' Thrust. Chaotic Spring is too musically noisy and goes overboard with the petal effects in comparison to Chaos Thrust, and once again it doesn't look as impactful.

Pretty disappointing upgrades after 8 years of the same finishers to be fair.

exactly this! you phrased it way better than I did - love the term 'musically noisy' - that riff on Chaotic Spring is rough enough it messes with my rotation - I keep thinking something else is happening, not my attack. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but do I want to?

I like Chaos Spring but I also didn't think Chaos Thrust even needed an upgrade, Full Thrust maybe needed an animation upgrade but it needed to be small and similar in animation and sound to the original, Heavens' Thrust feels more like an aoe, I would actually like it if it was the animation for Draconian Fury which I dislike.
If anything the only thing that needs an animation and sound upgrade is Vorpal Thrust.

I'm not gonna say that I like Chaos Thrust's sfx but Chaotic Spring's sfx feel like ... it should be on Bard than DRG.

I have to say I agree with the OP 100%. One of the things that originally drew me to the class was the look and sound of the attack animations, and the way they flowed one into the next. I imagine I'll get used to the new visuals and timings, but the sfx could definitely use a rework. In particular the Chaotic Spring sound which is just so jarringly out of place compared to everything else in the kit that it makes me, like the OP, not even want to play the class.

Remember - never complain about sound effects. Otherwise it will end like slaughter of Gunbreaker in 5.01.

But I have to admit that these sound effects are indeed lacking, but devs also lack ability to properly create sound effects, so I would leave it that way, it can only get worse.
