It's piss poor work right there and I don't understand how its considered acceptable.
Other MMOs just kick you back to the main screen, why can't FFXIV? Why not have a "Retrying connection" option? Having to enter my log in details, grab my 2FA code every single time I disconnect from lobby is a pain in the ass.
I'm not annoyed because MMO expansions and launches always have issues, but at least those MMOs don't close your game when you can't connect/lose connection from lobby.
Yeah it's a massive pain- I got in for a bit this morning. Then the game crashed- even though I got back on within 5 minutes I was now at the back of a 6000 long queue.... And after several lobby errors I'm still in that queue two hours later.
I absolutely get the semiconductor shortage, and I'm pretty chill about waiting to get in, I've got movies and games and stuff. BUT if possible to look into future software modifications to alleviate the errors that come from such issues I'd really like Square to tackle them. (Though Im sure they are)
It is clearly an area that will need to be addressed. They did address the lack of an instance que after the poorly designed launch of Stormblood happened. Yes they could always add more hardware. But doing it right would alleviate future growth issues as well.
