Hey Devs; any chance we could bring our Chocobos when doing unsynced solo runs?

It just dawned on me yesterday, I would LOVE to be able to bring my Chocobo companion with me when running content solo! Especially since the BLU's Choco Meteor literally hinges on having a Chocobo around to be useful.

Plus, it would make them a LOT more valuable, as well as determining which route you decide to "spec" your Choco-bro.

Just a thought!

If they can get it working, I see no reason not to. It could be problematic though. Originally, you couldn't even have 8 people in a party in the overworld if anyone had a chicken out. They counted as party members.

If I recall correctly, you also couldn't even queue for a duty if you had your chocobo out. Couldn't cast Protect on it either. So, don't get your hopes up that chocobo will ever see the inside of a dungeon. But also, I'm pretty sure they don't intend for you to be running dungeons solo. It can't even join you in story instances.

I believe so yeah. I couldn't remember so I didn't mention that.

I'm going to take an educated guess based off the fact they made instance versions of difference zones to keep loading time down that every single place your character physically exists that you can see them in is instanced, some just have timers on them.

If they can make instanced runs(eureka) where you can use your mounts I'm sure they can make instances where you can use your companion, it's just a matter of if they future proofed the content or if they didn't and it's not worth doing at all.

For instance if being able to use your companions is just a disabled option or if they have a space in the coding to allow overwrites then they can simply make one instance allow companions and overwrite that particular code into all the other instances.
If they don't have it as an option or any space for optional coding then they would have to go back and edit them one by one...
