Can we do away with this at some point and have it replaced by a proper system?
The devs know it exists, they know we float items to achieve what we want, they even mentioned that they hoped they hadn't fixed it when they updated collision detection.
Surely it would be better to have the housing menu properly support doing it? Maybe via a 'Z-axis' button that when pressed lets you slide items up and down?
I will admit the 'wow, how did you even do that?' comments I sometimes get are nice, feels good to have (not so) secret insider knowledge, but it'd be even better if everyone could do it and we could all do it properly :o . Plus I want to lower some items into the floor of my apartment, and the glitch to float things higher is no good for that ;)

While this is good in theory, it might be more difficult in practice. The devs have acknowledged that the glitches exist, but as long as they aren't game breaking, they won't touch them. If they were to go through and adjust everything it could cause more issues, not to mention the development time and cost. I'm not saying certain things shouldn't be addressed, but an entire overhaul might not be the answer.
