After 6 Resistance Relics...My Opinions On The DR Step!

After working through all steps of getting 6 ShB relics, I can honestly say that this was one of my most fun experiences getting them.
(I have met people already who have almost all of them so I notate my accomplishments are small)

Yet I wanted to speak on what I wished SE had done to make the XP I had from getting a bit smoother:

Delubrum Reginae to me was the most sluggish phase of relic. Now I understand how many would feel fates or other events would be worse, but for me and my opinion...I may be a sadist but I love going back to old zones and remembering my times in earlier levels outside of instances. In DR, instead of giving us a fast pace environment with multiple facets as we have seen with Dalriada i.e. hallway, we get boss after sluggish boss with only mines to deal with in between at times. Then not only do you have to exp. this instance, but I have had to bear with it nearly 100 times.

Now for those who say "but you can do Deep Dungeon"...how often if you are the average player who may not be in a active FC or may be a rando in a common FC do you find dedicated groups of 4 to do 100 floors from 50-150 for only a RNG chance of a drop? And compare this to a 100% drop rate for DR...which one do you think the average player will do? Opinions may vary but the "alternative option" compared to other levels of drop items like for example Memories from CEs from BSF or 15 from 50 raids is more fairer in comparison.

Now I know they will likely "nerf" this phase sometime potentially in the future but I still question why they didn't in the latest patch. I hope there is a solution SE does to correct this very soon but I am confident they wont for months to come.

Lastly, most players now are focused on leveling our honor yet somehow we get more mettle from 3 normal Zadnor fates in comparison to a 30+ minute instance? This to me is a design flaw in which I also hope they will rectify soon.

With everything said, I still thoroughly enjoyed the relic XP this expansion and can't wait to see what happens in Endwalker!

So far I got 2 and a half weapons through that step and it's by far the most painful. And I'm planning to do all weapons so...
DR runs certainly got faster with honors, and I expect them to get even faster as people level those, so I expect that's why they didn't nerf the step yet. But that doesn't change the fact that it's still a hella long instance for 1 single artifact, and without much alternatives either.

In potd the drop rate is actually 100% past floor 150, so you for sure get 5+ artifacts from a full run. But as you said, finding people willing to commit for that is hard, as well as matching schedules and all. And while I always wanted to get to potd 200, I don't think it should have anything to do with relic grind.

It's also almost a spit in the face that by running DR you get 2 of the new ones and only 1 of the older ones, it should be reversed tbh, especially considering how the last step has soooo many ways to get and it's so easy already!
At least, I don't know, add some artifact drops in Dalriada too? Cause at this point, aside from field notes, it's pretty useless to run, as yeah you get 3 of the new step but you gotta get to that one first.

Figured the forum would get a lot of feedback regarding this particular phase now that the last phase is live.

Yes, I have cleared all weapons past the timeworn artifact phase way before 5.5 drops. It is however, still in my opinion that the grind could’ve been nerfed by the time the last phase was added. The amount of time (and sanity) invested is akin to grinding multiple zodiac zeta relic despite being the theoretically easiest relic to grind to date.

It did not see its nerf, sadly. Perhaps in future when EW drops. It just feels silly that DRn alone drops TWO raw emotions as opposes to ONE timeworn artifact. But one could also think that the reason behind this scheme is that they’re considering players who’s not quite finished with some of their augmented law order weapon BUT has some to complete up to last phase. Therefore balancing both phases. (i.e. Raw Emotion starts from 0/15 but Timeworn Artifacts possessed is already 7/15)

One of the QoL I’d like to see it happening. Don’t get me wrong, I like DRn & CLL as a raid. Same as Dalriada. But when one have no more interest in getting more weapons, the only incentive to go back is only for the rare drops or mettles. I tried to run CLL & DRn in other day just to clear the weekly quest and wound up disappointed with the mettle gain being very poorly scaled: 200k-ish & 600k-ish respectively. If they’re as high as 40% of Dalriada’s I’d be more inclined to run them.

Minor correction on this point, but once you get past floor 100, Palace of the Dead has, in my experience at least, a 100% drop rate for memories.

That being said, I do think that it wouldn't be too big an ask for them to adjust this step, especially given the raw emotions others mentioned you get from the content are more than the timeworn artifacts. Getting two per Delubrium Reginae run wouldn't be too big an ask.

Or hell, dropping the CT and Delebrum phases to only requiring 7 would work too. Those are the only two steps preventing me from wanting to do more than 3 weapons. Because CT is still boring as hell and Delebrum is...luck of the draw. If you get a good group, you can destroy the place in under 30m. If you get a bad one...I hope you like 1 hour runs.

Delebrum through DF is definitely one of the most sluggish and time consuming parts of the current relics(I know, I did all 17 via DF, and have been helping a friend recently do theirs through speed run PFs - we're talking 20 min runs on average, quickest being just under 19, longest being 23 - where everyone is using highest possible damage increase essences, and actions like Rend Armour that is constantly up on every fight). I really think they should increase the number of artifacts you gain from Delebrum from 1 a run to 3 like they did for Dalriada's emotions.

It would have been cool if DR had a bonus if cleared in <25 minutes it adds chances for more items/artifacts/etc. That'll get the frugal people who don't use essences and actions to wise up.
