Hi! First, this is a pipe dream thread- I don't expect anything to come of it, but on that small You've-won-the-lottery chance the devs like it, win win right?
IF the devs had the time and budget, where would you want to see the game tweaked/adjusted/revisited or polished?
A good example was adding flying to ARR zones.
My shortlist:
1) Overhaul of the physics engine and hit boxes.
This allows for much tighter game modes and better jumping puzzle experiences.
As is, the Kugane Tower and many other sightseeing points are a stupid mess. Ultimately this could lead to new features like actual racing or minigames.
2) Trusts for all MSQ dungeons
Once the start-town quests converge (right before Sastasha), I would to meet some of the Scion background characters (namely Hoary Boulder and his group). Maybe they're just hopeful adventurers like us who are teaming up to do some merc-work for Limsa. The end-point being, introduce Trusts right away in Sastasha.
3) Early story tweaks
The post fetch-quest-removal story is really not bad, but I still would have like to see a more involved story/cutscenes. As an example, I would have liked more story showcasing Edda's party. They only have 1 real cutscene in Gridania as their group breaks up.
I would cut even more fetch quests and instead have all level 10-20 quests involve their party. Basically a few more scenes to build a friendly rivalry. A scene of them escaping Sastasha as you roll up (they are currently just NPCs at the entrance). A scene as the boss starts up in Tam-Tara of Edda panicking and Avere getting killed.
4) Scion Tweaks
Some of Edda's party join the scions (did you even notice Liavinne?). It's not that Edda's story is particularly important at this point, but it would be nice to involve the characters as Trust members, at least up until the walking sands is invaded and several scions (who would have been in your trust) are killed. (again, did you even notice Liavinne?)
As is, I like a lot of the minor characters...but 10ish years later in the game I barely remember who a lot of them are and even playing the story again on an ALT, there wasn't a lot to them. I'd like to have had more interactions, which would be infinitely better than the run-around Minfillia has us do (read: run dungeons and do quests with them).

Given time and budget, my actual answer is to delay 7.0 for awhile to build a game engine and server infrastructure that isn't bonkers. Spend 6.x wrapping up things in Eorzea like the monetarists, elementals, ala mhigan reconstruction, etc., push it to 6.7 or 6.8 instead of 6.5.
Because all I want is WoW/GW 2 style transmogs and I don't think we're going to get them any other way. -

I don't think we need to add even more msq on these earlier levels... It would be better for we to have a new starting experience entirely, on 7.0, since that expansion will start a completely new story. It should be a really good starting point for new players!
The devs said they will remake the physics in the game on 7.0, but they talked more about cape and cloth physics I think...
And I agree they should expand the trust system! It would be so good if all dungeons were trust enabled, even if we couldn't choose which party members to bring with us early on! -

Shortlist for me, and this requires SE to stop wasting money on swiftly dying live services and instead put their money back into their money maker- ff14
1. Get some more staff on the job design team and battle design team and fresh faces to boot. At least one member per role for the job team and at least someone to check over the english and other non japanese forums.
2. Redesign the code for glamour and gear and update rules/guidelines for how gear is designed to avoid problems like clipping, hats etc for any future content.
3. Overhaul the engine to improve physics
4. Get a team to look under the hood and rewrite 1.0's data intensive code
5. Rewrite Zenos so he stays dead at the end of SB and elidibus survives his encounter as the 5.3 trial and rewrite Moenbryda back IN. Imagine her in trust
6. Rewrite SB so it has better pacing and less out of character moments. -

If I heard and remember correctly Trusts are being expanded into Stormblood in 6.0. In time maybe they'll go back further, but much further back and they'll have to make a choice between expanding Trusts or keeping/improving/expanding Squadrons.
