I kinda like the thought of being able to block while leveling another healer (sch mainly, so the loss of shields is rough to get used to though) while also standing out a little, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find conjurer shields and wands as I level up with it.
Did they discontinue the idea of them after ARR for just canes or am I just not seeing them drop?
Are wands and shields discontinued for WHM?

you can still on the rare occasion get a parry with any job and weapon so dont worry
funnily enough though they did have a small resurgence recently because of bozja, a level 80 zone that ups stats and levels inside. so a level 1 wand and shield was better than a level 80 cane in that zone -

And I'm aware of Bozja (still need to look for that mount..), but that's funny that a wand and shield outdoes a cane, but I'm guessing they adjusted it since then or just not worth it as much anymore? -
05-21-2021, 10:54 AMEnkidohSEN (Sentinel) was more for GLA as only GLA could make use of SEN abilities (which mostly became GLA abilities by default when SEN was rolled into GLA anyway), but THM and CNJ could equip certain shields and thus gain SP towards SEN. This all changed when the 1.0 battle system was redesigned circa 1.20 patch and SP was removed, and Class Rank became Class Level, and Jobs were added, so SEN was rolled into GLA to make it a better fit for PLD which naturally was all about defense with a shield, and shields became classless. But certain types of shields could still be equipped to THM and CNJ given there was plenty of single handed wands/rods those two classes used, and this continued into ARR.Quote:

It's a shame they discontinued them. Was it just too much work to offer two sets of weapons for THM/BLM and CNJ/WHM?

Good thing Reaper's going to share with it in 6.0, 'cuz I always thought it was funny we have the "all four tanks" set, the "all three healers" set, the "all four casters set", and...yep Dragoon gets its own exclusive set every patch.Quote:

Thank god! Hope they can find a new solutions for paladin.
It was AWFUL when you had to roll for both the wand and the healer shield. Most of the time you would get only one of the two.
Either they should come as a set or they should not bother dong this again.
