Ground Targeting suggestion

I'd really like an option that traps ground targets within its range, in such a way that you never get the purple "can't cast here" version of the targeting circle. Instead the circle just stays at its maximum range in the direction you are trying to cast.

This way you can always cast, and casting at max range is really easy and quick. I feel it would be great for things such as Ninja's teleport spell and for those times where you're trying to cast far and keep accidentally slipping the target outside of max range. I feel like this would improve things for both mouse and controller targeting.

Obviously it should just be an option, for people who prefer the current system. But personally I'd massively prefer the system where you can always cast, and trying to cast outside of your range just defaults to casting as far as you can in the direction you're trying to cast.

I just use a macro that does /action "Action Name" <t>
It places it automatically so I don't have to care.

Ground target here is a mess because the damn marker doesn't queue.
I'd like to see them add what you suggested and also make the ground target marker (together with pots and Sprint) queue properly. Macros are well and good but there are enough situations when you need to place/ target something manually. And having a toggle that automatically locks ground targets at max range for manually placing something would be great.

That's not an optimal and universal solution though, especially not for Ninja's teleport spell where you're not even trying to cast it on a target, you're just selecting where to move.

You can do it with controller. Just hold r1 I think it is and move the circle out.

After that it'll stay at that range everytime. Unless you move it normally with the right stick.

It's how I use shukuchi. Set it once them after that just face the camera where I wanna go and press the button

I think that it's optimal because it doesn't cause any delays while weaving, at least for me. The time it would take me to manually place it with my mouse would be far more likely to cause me not to press a GCD when it comes off cooldown.

On that note though, other classes like BLM have a teleport and teleporting to a party member can be useful, because they are probably going to a safe spot themselves.

In double weave situations or narrow weave space, it's gonna clip.
