Some unhappiness exists in the german community but not as much as in the english one from what I've seen. Mainly because pushing the dps meta and encouraging greed on healers is not as prevalent there and (lack of) healer dps isn't seen as critically, so freestyling your healer with a lot of GCDs is fine as long as it's a kill.
German forums are dead for the most part and healers are rarely brought up, let alone to complain, so I can go mainly by personal experience in PF, NN, various FCs and chatting with others in general. But it seems a lot of german players see healers as someone who is there to keep them alive and if they dps a bit, it's a bonus but if not, that's fine aswell while healers seem to prefer to play it very safe and spent more time healing than dpsing. So the lack of downtime filler is not as apparent or a cause for complaints.
Would be interested to know how the french community views current healer design.
As a German player myself I think it’s more or less the case that they feel overwhelmed with how to heal. Like for myself I’m getting bored as hell if I don’t have to do anything so I dps a lot. And I like the time save when bosses and trash dies faster.
From the French side, well forum is... dead. Last post on Healer thread was 11-04-2020. so from this source nothing to say.
About the ingame chitchat, I can only share want I experience (I only do Normal, Extreme and Unreal content, no Savage anymore and no Ultimate at all). To summaries, the french community is less vocal about problem. We tend to not complain in group chat but more in private small group so actual feedback comes from a restricted group of person always.
So....
about the heal vs DPS topic > "We tend" to complain when there is a zero DPS healer but keep going as long as the kill is doable.
about the heal balance / difficulty (DPS rotation, OGCD, # button pressed / sec) > "We tend" to say that it's too easy, nothing to heal and just spam 1 skill and refresh a dot.
about the healers resemblance (same base mechanics for all healers with some flavour for certain skill) > "We tend" to complain about that as well but deal with it. Same as for tanks mechanism.
So we basically complain about the same topics but just far less.
Disclaimer : Again, this is *my* point of view from about 30-40 people I hang out with in game. Because I only interact, on a daily basis, with people with about the same general point of view than me (for mental sanity reasons), the sample is not representative at all!
