Crafting Speed

Animation, cool, I got it, but it's to long. Make it faster, cut it in half, or just get rid of it. I can honestly care less about some animation between me and my result. I just sit there and mash the button wishing the process moved three times faster.

Couple selections have to be added.
Abort Snyth
Repeat Synth

Abort Synth, there are those times when the synth just goes horribly and you know you are not going to finish it. So why keep going? Waste of time. Give us the ability to abort the synth. Yes, we will still take the loss in items, no big deal, this is all about TIME.
Repeat Synth, there is no need for us to go back through the whole selection process if we are skilling up. None whats so ever. All we need is "Repeat Synth" and ONE Window that Confirms the items needed and the button Okay and Cancel in that Window. Way it sits now, there is four selections. My method just cut it to two.

Tired of the Time Sink! Had enough of it from FFXI. How about that ability to hit another button that just calculates the chances of success and the synth is either successful or fails with ONE Animation.

That's great and all, but that's not at all what the OP is requesting.

Sorry, I was only addressing the first part of the post.

There is a repeat synth sure it's having to go through recipes then starting it, but it sure beats having to go into the inventory as click on each item before each synth. Abort synth isn't really needed either, if you are so sure your synth will fail then just perform a rapid synth, if it succeeds you lose no durability, if it fails you lose a lot of durability so even when all hope is lost just go rapid and get it over with lol. I've had times where I thought my synth would fail only to get by through a rapid synth, so even if things look bad just go for it lol.

The only reason why we have a repeat function during leves is because of it's limited amount of synths ranging from 4-8. As mentioned earlier some things are increasing with this upcoming VU hopefully or maybe not until 1.22a but I doubt we'll ever get a true "repeat" function when it comes to our own materials.

Your an Idiot. Crafting is a Time Sink. No matter how simple they make it for you. Even if it is just a list that you have to type in the amount and watch make itself. It is a Time Sink. That's what crafting is. That's why it exists. If you don't like it, stop crafting.

Obviously SE agrees that the animations are too long. Why else would they be changing them?

For example, a goldsmith standard synth strikes the orb three times. Why not just once? Still an animation, just a significantly shorter one.

There's nothing wrong with weeding out tedium.

Just like the OP requests. There times where I'm sitting at 50% progress and 20 durability. I know it's failed but I have to spend time waiting for the animations through the rest of the synth just to end it. An "Abort Synth" makes sense.

I personally don't think the process of repeating recipes is too tune consuming, but I wouldn't fault anyone for the convenience of a one button repeat option.

And as for your personal vitriol toward the person you quoted, I don't believe anyone who types "Your an Idiot" has any room to talk.

As has been said above they are working on shortening the animation length, I agree that repeat synth would be very handy when grinding on the same item.

They could do it similar to the way you can repeat a leve synth,

The crafting system is seeing a massive overhaul in 2.0 so maybe they don't want to invest too much time prior to 2.0

As someone else said in another post it would be much better if whilst crafting the animation played on a loop whilst you selected abilities and worked on completing the synth, I think that would be more streamlined.
