2.0 fears.

I believe every time we as a community comes up with an idea, we get a bland, "Coming in 2.0"

In fact, it's so common to hear, even the players themselves have started to say it like, "Ooh! Maybe in 2.0!"

I know 2.0 is gonna be big, but then maybe a week after it finally settles in, we'll say to ourselves. "This.... is it?"

So I wanna beat the sadness to the punch! Put on your future goggles and say how 2.0 will disappoint you.

2.0 will disappoint those who think magical unicorns exist and dreams happen over night.

I bet 2.0 will still have all the NPCs standing still... standing.

Yes the lifeless cities will likely exist, dont think much people mind tho.

be nice to have lifeless NPCs, and then the occasional NPCs who enter and exit houses who we can't talk to.
But alas, disappointment.

2.0 can only disappoint me if the UI and game engine aren't fixed.

Everything else can come as it pleases, because so long as the engine is solid, intuitive, and smooth, there's a game to be made here, and it's worth waiting for them to pump out content.

I'm not a fan of an NPC that walks back and forth from point A to B at timed intervals. It's just kind of depressing that their main attraction is to be that person who's always walking from Point A to B regardless of time day or season lol. You could attempt to have dynamic NPCs but it starts to lose it's flavor once ye get to the point that the same scenes repeat and nothing ever really deviates from the planned concepts lol.

Depends on how much you overhype it. If you take a look at the things they've said and expect that, I think you'll be fine. 2.0 isn't going to fix every last problem the game has, however it will make things considerably better in some cases.

Ahh, just imagining the UI still being a stagnant 2-5 seconds til the server reacts to your selection is just horrifying.

Well... one day that person could... disappear... I'd be scared for that person? Yes. Would I go investigate? Probably not.
