Hey Everyone, I hope this post finds you healthy & well.
After watching the Live Letter 60 summaries from several streamers, I couldn't help but to think, "even though I don't play mahzhong, or the violin, or need an umbrella & the QOL changes are good, SE is missing the mark on updating forgotten content"
BLUE MAGE
It's great that Blue Mage will be getting level increase to 70, new spells, & ultimate but I always felt SE miss the mark by not allowing BLU to be used in POTD, Squadrons, Eureka - especially as far as solo content goes.
SQUADRONS
I have always enjoy squadron> I believe its a great way to level ALT; go through dungeons at your own pace with NPCs.
SE is missing the mark by not allowing the squadrons to move up in ranks, at least up to Commander; not adding 61 - 70 dungeons; not allowing BLU to be used in squadron dungeons.
I can't tell how many times I hit the maximum number of GC seals from all the gear I get to from sell dungeon gear; enjoy getting the weekly squadron buff which I used when traveling to different worlds.
Again, not playing down the QOL changes or updates to other features in FFXIV but there some old contents that needs to be revisited.

Trusts are NOT adaptive AIs, they're SCRIPTED AIs...Or in other words, the AI has to be tailored for each individual dungeon, Its not as simple as plugging the AI in to previous dungeons and having them tag along with the player.Quote:

That being said, i do feel like they're due for an update, if only just because they're STILL using Stormblood skills. I did a Squadron dungeons a few weeks ago for the rank up to captain and it honestly made me a little bitter that the NPCs could still use butchers block, but i couldn't. They used Ultimatum and Largesse too, even.
Evidently those skills are still in the games files, the animations are still there....and im mad i cant use them! -

Ah, and that explains why they said they couldn't do trust for certain too old dungeons, there's no script hooks in them to attach the scripted ai too.
I still feel there's things they learned from setting them up that should be useful and make the squads better though, even if they can't just crib outright... I can hope at least. -

A while ago I did some jobquest and one of the NPCs there casted a Stoneskin onto me right before the enemies died. Was a good feeling to run around with the good old Stoneskin for half an hour ^^
And yes, please update the Squadron and fill the 60-71 gap in AI dungeons. -

GC squads are on hiatus for this patch series until they can figure something unique to do with them. In an earlier interview pre-shadowbringers Yoshi P said that they found that the Grand Company and Squad system was stale and too repetitive and wanted to come about a way to make it interesting and until then they won't touch it.

For the vast majority of story in SB, you have Alphinaud, Alisaie, Lyse, Hien, Yugiri, Gosetsu, etc. There's a large cast of characters to pull into the trust system for SB. HW...that may be difficult since we really only have Ysayle, Estinien, Alphinaud, and later Y'shtola.Quote:

Grand Companies do feel rather forgotten. They aren't really relevant for anything besides levelling DoL/DoH (only Ishgard is better), getting some materials, a few emotes and the glams which you can only wear while affiliated to them.
