Can we please remove old content that no one does anymore for more dev time?

There are a total of 192 duties now when you open Duty Finder, and most people don't do a lot of those content anymore. For example, not a lot of people do guildhests anymore. 99% of players have never beaten Solemn Trinity, for a good reason. Newer content is more enjoyable and interesting and old content like guildhests seem boring in comparison. I think the devs should have the courage to simply delete some of these old content so they have more time to develop new content. If they deleted guildhests we would probably be able to get one more Bozja Citadel step, and I think most people would prefer the latter.

You do realize that deleting content which already exists doesn't turn back the clock, or otherwise enhance their ability to develop things quickly?

If anything, making them go back and remove things form the game would only take away dev time.

I know this is a troll topic and removing content is stupid but...

Something has to be done. The roulettes are not enough anymore to fill the queues. We have too much content and there are not enough people in the roulettes to fill all those 8-man trials and 24 man raids. The roulettes worked in ARR and HW, but nowadays you have to wait for hours to progress through the stuff.

Yea and this is a troll response in a troll topic. I have never waited the times you suggest for anything in this game.

I have an AUS friend who regularly encountered 1.5 hour queue times while trying to progress through Omega normal. I once waited 2.5 hours to get into one of the stormblood Alliance Raids. Even during off-peak hours, that's pretty excessive.

This issue seems to unsurprisingly affect ilevel-cheese prone duties like Normal Raids and Alliance Raids the most, so fixing that may be a reasonable place to start.

Actually, design by subtraction is used a lot in other video games. http://www.thesaint.scot/2017/03/fum...y-subtraction/ Maybe Square Enix can consider subtracting some of the content in FF14 too?

How, exactly, would deleting old content equate to adding new content? Aside from the occasional scaling that (I assume) must be done (but for only some of it), old content is dead development content. In fact, putting in the effort to remove that content - pulling, say, an old raid that's a part of some storyline - would likely generate much more dev. work than simply leaving it alone.

99% chance they are on one of the Japanese data centres but didn't have their duty finder set to include Japanese. The queue times are awful if you're waiting on, ultimately, two eligible tanks and two healers from a minority language to be in the roulette at the same time.

Levelling roulette ignores language settings, but everything else follows it.

The worst queue I have ever encountered (outside of misguided attempts to queue for EX trials) was a 40-minute wait to get into Orbonne when it wasn't current, and that's because my first queue came up unexpectedly quickly so I missed it.

Why is everyone saying this? You can delete files by just dragging them to the Recycle Bin and I imagine it's not that different on a gaming development platform. Deleting old content gives them more memory to work with.
