I'm posting cause I Love My wife, hate seeing her upset. A little background for context, my wife suffers from daily body pain, inflammatory and nerve dmg, and can't leave the house much cause of it. She's developed crippling agoraphobia, panic attacks & depression as a result. Nearly blacks out from panic being outside. I introduced her to FF14 and We have played together for 3 yrs having a lot of fun together. Due to nerve dmg that makes her right arm weak and shaky its hard for her to keep up in intense content. She spends most her time doing solo content, gathering & crafting in her house. When the new wards were announced she was excited. Frustrated by the item cap both inside & out. She hated having to store her table setting she made with 3 Oasis dinning tables, and placement for 4, to fit her Halloween decor she bought during the MS sale. She decided to power game for 3 wks to fund raise for her Moogle themed BnB with sweet shop and Boutique. I hated seeing her push so hard, refusing to log off when her pain levels got really high. But when my wife decides to do something, get out of her way. She did it. 53 million gil in 3 wks. Too excited to sleep, afraid she'd oversleep she stayed up all night. When it came time she logged in got to Shiro and ran to the plot 30 Northern Shiro on a cliff overlooking the ocean. She got there first, clicked but it wouldn't let her relocate. A message said she couldn't relocate cause she had to put her housing items in storage first. Then someone came up and took the plot from her. She tried desperately to store items and rush back out. I could see her shaking & tearing, from lack of sleep and frustration. All I could do was rub her back and wait for the inevitable. Every plot was being taken. Exhausted, and at this point in a lot of pain she broke down saying it wasn't fair and I have to agree, it wasn't. She didn't need to store her items when she had upgraded from a small to a med, she didn't know she had to store anything for this move. You might think its stupid, or poke fun at my wife but you don't know what its like to have someone you Love suffer daily from Pain, unable to move around fighting off nausea cause of medications she takes for pain, depression, anxiety and lack of sleep cause she cant get comfortable. The game is her outlet. Her way to talk to people, pass the time & have fun. The really frustrating thing is that she's happy with her Med. If she had the item allowance to finish the decor she wants inside and outside her house she'd be happy to stay in her Med. This might be a pointless effort, SE may not even care about this post and this all be vain But I'm asking that they please consider the people who play this game. Not everyone who plays is simply some game junkie looking for fun. Some play your game to feel a little less miserable about their struggles such as health issues like my wife. Please, SE Can we get an increase. Just Think about it. Thank You for your time.

I know it was a long post, And i don't know how people due these long post with full constructed paragraphs without it forcing you to edit but i dot post often. I just wanted to get this off my chest. Its a frustrating situation especially when you consider that there are a total of 504 Large plots per server which host well over 1000 players each. All of whom would like mediums and large plots and should be allowed the chance if they put int he time and effort to raise the cash to. Especially when you consider that a lot of the decorating people do are effects created by using multiple items to get one effect. And people do amazing things. part of this games appeal is the housing and when they keep adding new items to be placed inside and out but don't increase the item cap it takes it very frustrating.

With the risk of sounding harsh, the information is out there. A simple google search and your wife would have known about the relocation requirements. Yes it sucks, and yes i would want more furnishing slots aswell (especially in Mansions and Gardens) but people still need to learn to do some research, especially when they care so much about it. Even searching for relocation on the Lodestone gives you information.

If it gives you any hope, pictures released of Ishgard restorations look like Housing Wards so if we're lucky we will be getting Ishgard Housing at some point where your wife can hopefully relocate to a Mansion. -

Its also reasonable to expect that when upgrading to a larger plot there shouldn't be any issue with items transferring without issue. She knows about the Ishgard housing but without prior knowledge of the lay out its not the same. Running in blind is just another frustration for her. AS i said she has a hard time controlling her right hand and clicking and moving her avatar around can be difficult if shes having a bad day. Not to mention , its Ishgard, for all we know its going to be cold and bleak and she likes the bright and vibrant look of Shirogane and the Lavender beds. Even members in her FC found it surprising though a few did fill her in on what happen most didn't know about the storage prerequisite for the same reason she didn't. it just doesn't seem right when upgrading to a larger plot why there should be an issue with the items transferring over automatically. And if I may defend my wife's mistake one last time, it seems a common sense thing for the devs to simplify the matter. IF she had lost out on the plots simply cause she didn't et there before someone else that would have been fine. But then she would have also had the frustrating task of replacing all her housing items back to the way she had it before storing for the move which would take hours. To make someone have to go trough all that is short sighted. the system should be set up so a person can upgrade to a plot have their items store or just randomly set automatically so that if they end up not moving cause they cant get to their desired plot they dot have to have the herculean task of resetting their house back in order which, for many, took hours if not days to set up the way they want.Quote:

And what she said rang true, She said it would be pointless unless she planned on giving up the game entirely because she didn't want to pay a monthly fee for a game shes not paying and because of the housing rules they have set up now if anyone tries to step away from the game for more then 30 days they loose their house. So everyone is in effect held hostage to remain subscribed to the game paying monthly fees or face loosing the house and everything in it. depending on how long you are gone. She also reminded me that she and I, during the Mog Station sale, spent about 100$ on mounts minions, and in her case, decorations and outfits, and it would all be a waste if she stopped playing and it frustrates her. I really cant blame her for that feeling. And that's another thing, there's new housing items in the game and on mogstation and she would like to get them but she has no room to use them. You'd think SE would want to promote more purchases of their online items for more profit by increases the item cap in the houses or provide more large plots so more players can get those larger houses for more items to be placed. Frankly id like to see a ward of only medium and large housing. Most people want these larger houses in the first place and if a player is willing to put in time and effort to raise the money they should have the opportunity to get those larger houses. Considering that Ishgard is all about the noble houses wards with medium and large houses only would make alot of sense.

Having to put back all your furniture is a pain, so i can only imagine how hard it is for your wife. But had she relocated she would have had to furnish an entire mansion. I believe they mentioned something about why they cannot save the locations of furniture, even in the same sized house. Something something server limitations, as usual :/ -

That does suck, so she was going to relocate from medium to large? Didn't think storage would have been a problem I guess they changed it. Should always look before hand when planning on relocating because there is always tiny loop holes that people miss. Also the demolish timer is 45 days, so a month break from the game isn't going to take away her house at all. If the Ishgard housing comes I hope she can get her dream house then.

10-31-2019, 07:49 PMGoldenVoiceI wasn't meaning locations of furniture. when she relocated from the small to medium it was all just in a pile, so to speak, on the main floor. same happen with me if i remember correctly. Even then it doesn't seem far fetched to have the system make it that it stored items straight into a persons storage if need be. And as for her having to decorate the large plot, had she gotten it, that would have been fun for her. She was all excited cause she said she wanted to make a moogle themed BnB with a sweet shot and boutique on the main floor where she was going t sell the crafted clothing items she makes using the mannequins as models. She would have had fun for days setting that up. She is a fan of the SIM's game and that's how she views this. But having to reset all her items in her home to where it was? that would have been tedious and frustrating for her because shes such a perfectionist and trying to line up everything exactly how she like is would have upset her. So as you can see there is a big difference between how she would have handled the large plot as appose to having to reset her house as it was when she had to reset her lawn after trying to store her items trying to rush back to get a large plot it took her a few hours cause she started shaking a lot the stress of the situation took its toll on her.Quote:

Its most likely to look like a cold bleak place. Or even a cold place she likes Shirogane, the Lavender beds or even the mist. Bright cheery places. plus there's no way to know the lay out before hand so she can plan her path tot he large plot she would be running in bling with no guarantee of success. By the time the wards come out she probably be able to afford a large 3 times over LOL but doesn't do her any good if she doesn't have the right environment. Shes very particular about that you should see our house during Christmas. Come the last two weeks of November shes gonna spend every hour I'm at work placing everything just the way she likes and every year she uses her crafting tools to make new items Like home made wreaths and ornaments.
