I am sorry but i heard something concerning. Is it true that we get only 1 job quest in ShB? And they were replaced by those role quest's or whatnot? Those where boring. Well not as boring like the White Mage quest line but still... If it is true then i am quite disappointed.

Yes. The only job-specific quest is lv80, and the only reward is a title. Most of them don't actually involve any fighting and are pretty lackluster.
I agree with you that it seems disappointing at face-value, but most of the job quests weren't very interesting in the past anyway, so I don't really miss them. -

At least those job quest were mostly about us. Those were one of the reasons i fell in love with this game. And i am sad to see them cut for less. Ah well sorry i just felt like ranting a bit. I mean in return we get a main campaign that is largely about us. I'd say that's a fair trade. It seems they are phasing out the old job quests for this new system. All of the lvl 80 quests are mainly just closure on the job trainers' storylines.

there are now 17 dow/dom jobs. it's becoming more of a burden to create storylines for every one of those jobs. this is saving time and resources.

This expansion also took place on another world. For us to have the normal 5ish job quests we'd either need to stop progressing the main conflict several times to go back to the source and check up with job trainer x(much more jarring then just porting over to amh areng or wherever and checking in), or thered need to be a convenient reason that theres a series of tasks specifically for our job on this foreign world. And all the other jobs too. Even though not all the jobs existed when the worlds were split and several seem to be fairly new developments.
The next expansion(in 2ish years probly) seems like it will most likely deal with the garlean conflict directly. That would put us back on the source, and make a continuation of the job lines fit the story better. If they still do the role thing next time around, then ill truly believe that the job lines are dead and not just paused.
