let's talk about ambient audio
i like to have Ambient Sounds higher than the other types of sounds because it adds to the immersion, it makes the game feel a little bit more alive, but on default levels it gets drowned out by everything else. i also think that crowd noise is too loud and jarring, here are some tweaks SE could make in order to improve upon what they already have:
- the default audio mastering should give more importance to ambient sounds
- separate the crowd noise that occurs when you're near a crowd of players, from the environmental audio, and allow us to change volume for each
- reduce the intensity of crowd noise, increase the volume of environmental/wildlife noises
- reduce the volume of alarms that occur in places like Castrum Meridianum
- increase the variety of the crowd noise so it's not the same 3 or 4 voices on a loop
- increase the variety of environmental & wildlife noise
