Quick question about AST cards

If i use divination with 3 different seals on a full party:
6%*8 = 48%

Then i use sleeve draw and convert the next 3 cards into lady/lord

8%*3 = 24%

So in the end 24 + 48= 72%

Is the boss taking 72% more damage?
Am i going crazy here?

How much does cards actually contribute in the overall raid damage?
How to calculate that?

Your math is wrong here, it doesnt work like that.

In your setup, both tanks, both healers and one dps are doing 6% more individual damage for 15 seconds, while the other three dps are doing 14% more individual damage over the same time. But you will have to take in mind that the damage gain from tanks and healers is not equal to what a dps will gain through it. The overall rdps gain isnt as much as you probably think it is and especially if you are not weaving cards between your malefic casts it is highly possible that your cards even end up as a net loss.

You can't multiply things like that. Divination is a 6% damage buff. It hits everyone, so it basically means the boss is taking 6% more damage for the 15 seconds the buff is active. Next, let's talk about sleeve draw. If you put all 3 cards into lords/lady, that's 8% per person. Only 3/8 of your party is getting this 8% buff, so it's actually far less than an 8% damage to your party's outgoing damage. To make the math simple, let's assume that 3 dps out of a party of 8 accounts for about 50% of the party's damage. Thus, an 8% damage buff on these 3 people would be about a 4% buff to your overall raid damage. You can combine this with divination manipulatively: 1.04 * 1.06 = 1.1024. In other words, divination and 3 lord/lady cards is about a 10.24% damage increase for their duration. In actuality it isn't really this simple, but this is pretty close to how it works.

Your cards can net up net loss? Seriously? How does that happen?

3 seal Divination + 3 lords/lady would look like this:
1- 6% + 8% = 14%
2- 6% + 8% = 14%
3- 6% + 8% = 14%
4- 6%
5- 6%
6- 6%
7- 6%
8- 6%

So 3 people have 14% damage up and 5 people have 6%, you will not have 14% damage up on those 3 party members for full 15s.

Never add percentages for calculating group wide dmg up each individual player has to be calculated differently and treated as a separate entity. (Or DNCs/NINs could say they give absurd dmg up XD) this is true for dmg received bonuses too.

Well net loss might have been the wrong word for it, however, if you are a below average AST and not properly know how to effectively weaving your cards after malefics you are a deficit to the group. Thats because if you dont weave them properly, your own dps will suffer a LOT and that loss can easily outclass the gain you get from it.

Buffs stack multiplicatively so it would actually be 14.5% on those people

I mean, it's comparable to Trick Attack, and it takes a Ninja 5 or 6 buttons to use that. So it's not that much more work on paper, but of course the hassle of having to target different players for several cards to get up to that point is quite a lot more work.
And of course Trick Attack is every 60s, not 120s...
