Suggestions + ideas

Materia: either needs to leave the game or items need to be adjusted that cant use it yet. most materia gear is better than the new "AF" gear.

Class/Job... I think I'd rather see a sub job than the selected classes that are subbed to the jobs we have. for example BLM with arc and pug: no survivabity convert almost useless if you want to live. sure arc pug has some useful abilities in there for blm but in a pinch none that are really gonna save your life. and if not a sub job then at least the ability to add a set number of abilities based on level but less than is aloud for classes. imo WHM is the only job worthy actualy playing out of them all. plus with a sub job you have the freedom to decide wut you need based on what you want to do.

Maybe this is a reach but flying mounts. Not lame ones but rare hard to obtain ones i want a challenge.

The instances i think should have timers removed. if i am gonna fail an instance id rather it be by my stupidity than running out of time. I can understand if it was something more like dynamis from ffxi where u have a big alliance

Jobs: Thf Nin Sam Blu Rdm Smn Bst (call it beastmaster) ( beast tamer sounds lame) then add whatever (new named) classes they want to call them.

Increase the leveling curve. lvling is to fast and easy. and i assume with time the lvl cap will increase as well. anyone who says its to slow to level is full of shiz 4 weeks and almost 50 in every class. crafting isnt so bad it suppose to be tough thats why items are worth making. or they can just make the exp you get from lvling lower whichever fits best.

Materia is great. what materia does is take things out of circulation. i go to a spirit bond party i take 3maybe 4 full sets of gear for my job and spirit bond the lot. thus instead of just buying 1 piece of armor i'm buying 4 or 5 which will then become materia and thus to some extents reduces the flooding of the market.

thus to some degree you dont see 10,000 robes on the market but only 5,000 players. because spirit bonding takes a good number of those robes out of circulation permanantly which helps crafters out alot. and helps to ensure the markets dont get so flooded.

you don't just buy gear and thats it demand is gone. you buy gear spirit bond it into materia sell it, meld it, buy more gear rinse and repeat. thus to some degree theres always a demand.

as for af. yes sure you can meld materia to gear and get more strength than your af. . but the af that has stats that cant be melded. whm enhance regen effect forexample. a powerfull effect you cant get or beat with materia. or reduced timers on prescence of mind. most other jobs are the same

sure there status affects might help regen and the bard buffs for its gear but i think items like af shud at least get 1 materia alotment

I believe there needs to be serious improvement in the Linkshell system. I believe for a online game to correctly function it needs to have a wide range of various forms of communication. Not just a simple roster of players who happen to have the same list as someone els. Personally that only promotes soo much desire to communicate with my fellow players before it gets boring or confusing, not actually meeting some of them ever. I have played FFXI for just around 6 years. And it was chaos most of the time. The Linkshells had no real way of organizing events or a way for personal time with the members within its community. There needs to be some kind of (Linkshellclubhouse). Where players can meet up for events, plan them, craft together, work together to achieve their goals(IN PERSON) etc., and not do it over a chat box across the world all the time. A place where it would encourage the players to meet up and play together. :p
