Please, can we just get rid of the party member requirement for skills to be usable?

Based on my personal experience, I've noticed that this has mostly affected PLD compared to other classes. But yeah, don't get me wrong I love helping and supporting my group more than anybody (I mean, my in game name is The Protector for crying out loud 😂) but imo it's just really lame not being able to use certain skills at all for my own direct benefit too.

Can you specify which skills you're talking about? The only one that immediately came to my mind was DRG's Dragon Sight, but they changed that in ShB to where DRGs can tether themselves. Are you talking about a PLD skill? Or skills from other jobs?

skills that requiere a party member:
all tanks : shirk
pld: intervention,cover
war: nascent flash
you mentioned drg already, also thanks for the information to the change, probably missed the change or didn't pay attention. haven't touched drg in a while.

another skill where pld has no benefit of is divine veil,with or without a party, he protects the grp but doesn't benefit from it at all.

those are the one i can think of atm.for the "needing a target/party member" skills i can only recommend mouse over <mo> macros or macros in general. i my self don't have a issue with skills which dont apply to my self and are more a pure support skills for other to benefit,but that's just me.

Paladin: Divine Veil. If it needs balancing make it a full 2min

The only thing at least some of these skills needs is to be able to be used on others players instead of only party members so they can be used in places like Alliance raids better.

I think it's good where it's at now since they already lowered the CD. However, they need to get rid of that dumb healing requirement to make it work. There's no reason I should have to wait for a heal or use Clemency to make it work. I don't get benefit out of it so why does this requirement exist? It's for the parties benefit. Not mine!

I came across a Paladin with an Alert Macro every time he used Divine Veil to let the healer know and the guy spammed that before every unavoidable AoE he could. Really took pressure off the healer to keep everyone topped up.

i think veil is fine as is, just mentioned it because the op talked about skills which don't benefit him as pld and the 2nd post asked about which skills.

also for unorganized groups a macro is useful, in organized ones people already incorporate a rotation of tank party skills, so there is even less need for the paladin to do anything beside pressing the button for veil.
