What's up with Alphinaud and Alisaie (small spoiler)

Are they half-elezen? One would expect that they would grow up at their age if you compare their height to those of playable elezen.

They are 16 years old, thus not fully grown.

They will grow as they age. Due to the long lifespan of Elezen they grow more slowly compared to the other races. I believe its stated that once an Elezen is 20 they should be at their max height.

Does it actually say that anywhere? They were 16 in ARR, and I feel like it's definitely been more than a year since then.

Especially since...

an entire year passed for them in the first alone, not counting however long HW and StB lasted in Eorzean time.

I can't figure out how to edit my own posts on mobile but wanted to add that they could just be really short for Elezen lmao

From what the Devs have said, everything that has happened in ARR/HW/SB is in its own time buble and technically not even a year has passed. The only reason they are now 17 is because it is stated they have been on the First for a year when you go there.

If I recall it's also stated somewhere that Elezen age a touch slower than other races, and live like ten years longer? I don't have access to my lorebook to verify the age slower part, though I do know it states they're /slightly/ longer lived in the opening blurb, but that and the time bubble are part of the reason why they still look to be in their mid teens.

I took that to mean that the "world" is in a time bubble - as in they aren't updating the game world to reflect the actual time that's passed. Not that no time has passed at all. As in, it's a gameplay thing and not a lore thing.

It just doesn't make sense to me that everything in two expansions worth of content somehow took up less than a year, especially with the massive amount of travel time we've spent roaming about. Unless Eorzean years are like multiple Earth years long maybe?? I don't expect them to really say anything concrete on it though.

So yeah, who knows, maybe they just age slowly or maybe the devs just didn't want to make a new model and they're still teenagers so is it really that inaccurate?

They haven't aged during that time.

They're not actually on the First. They're just souls that feel solid. Their bodies are still on the Source and haven't aged but a few days.

Ah yeah, that's true. Hadn't thought of that.

So basically the twins' physical age in the Source doesn't match their mental/soul/whatever age, Elezen age different than the other races, and time is a lie lmao
