Multi-Discipline Ending Quest - Can You Not?
So in the patch notes, there is a quest that cannot be taken unless a character has completed all four of the discipline quests: tank, healer, physical DPS, and magic DPS.
I know I’m perhaps just being stubborn, but I don’t think this requirement is fair.
My characters generally follow one of the disciplines. The fantasy I have in my mind for them precludes the possibility of, for example, my tank taking to the back lines and throwing spells, or my SMN/SCH picking up a sword and shield and holding the front line with her complete lack of musculature (she’s effectively a bookworm).
Locking a quest behind the requirement that these characters break with the fantasy I’ve established for them means that it’s a quest I’ll probably never get to see, because it doesn’t feel right to bring up these disciplines on them (never mind that it effectively means grinding them through PotD/HoH, which is a mode of gameplay that I do not enjoy).
It would be one thing to tie an achievement or a specific award to getting each discipline up—that would be something I and others like me could ignore. However, making it a quest, which presumably has lore revelations and cutscenes and the like, effectively requires people to play the game in a way that was previously entirely optional.
