Dear Devs; if there is ANY way players could "merge" characters, that would be great

So, my Miqo'te Monk is my original character. However, he is not the ONLY character I have ever tried to play. I have "wasted" time on several different characters over the years.

And I'm going to be honest; it kind of sucks.

You know what would be AMAZING, though?

If I could "merge" all of my different characters -- all quests completed, mounts and minions earned, cosmetics attained and/or unlocked, and the highest-level of each class/job -- making a single, "perfect" character.

Ideally, you could also change your "origins" (ie. changing your starting Class and City, as well as your ORIGINAL Grand Company, all of which is permanently marked in your Unending Journey, and also referenced any time you use a Fantasia).

My thinking is; the game clearly encourages you to play on a single character, anyways. I feel that this would give players the deepest, richest experience possible, because you'd no longer have to worry about "wasting" effort on a character you might one day abandon. Worst case scenario, you just "merge" them into one.

Of course, this is ultimately for my own well being; I want to be able to play an Au Ra or maybe even a Hrothgar, without having to worry about "hundreds of hours of play-time, completely going to waste". I've even bought both a story-skip AND a job-boost, and it STILL bothers me.

I dunno. Maybe it's something the Devs might give some minor consideration? At the very least, just make all our Achievements and cosmetics Account-wide, maybe?

Or just... play one character if you are worried about those things.

mmmmm no. just forget that all the time you "wasted" ever existed and just stick to one character forever and ever.

It won't happen. You kinda signed up for your current hassles when you made those numerous alts.

I do think mounts and minions and such that you buy off the cash shop should be account-wide, but other than that...

Uhm. No. Anyone who chooses to play multiple characters and then abandons them shouldn't be rewarded?? Like the game is set up to have everyone on one single character already. If you or anyone wastes time on multiple characters that's on you. Not the game. not the devs. No one else but yourself.

You're very creative, dude, but as others already told you, it was your decision in the first place, and you didn't need to do it. Why one of your characters, not doing a specific thing, should be rewarded with something another one of your characters did? No sense, see?

I have to disagree however I think we should have the hairstyles usable for all future characters once unlocked. I wanted to make an alt but I only got the hairstyle on my main unloked. Now I would have to wait till I get to HoH to find and unlock it again instead of having it in the creator from the get go. Kinda meh.

I'm inclined to support this idea, as I have characters across three datacenters, all with different things unlocked from one time events, and I'd love to have it available on all characters.
Perhaps merging things is too much, but unlocking stuff to be account wide would be a better approach, especially for the one-time events.

I dont want achievments to be account-wide, at least not automatically. Because the OP is right: The game encourages you to play one character and my guess is that thats partially because its so story-heavy. The story of that one character matters - and earning certain achievments is part of that characters story. They shouldnt be just dumped on any new character - if someone wants that, I dont midn giving them the option, but it should be something you have to turn on manually, not something that just happens.

All mounts and minions that involve promitions or the mogstation should be account-wide, agreed. But, again: Not agreed for any mounts you earn ingame.
