If Eden is a FFVIII throwback, I'm hyped.

Getting some FFVIII bosses would be exciting enough. However, what I would look forward to the most is the music. I cannot fathom how amazing Soken's take on Force Your Way would be. The thought of it is mouth-watering enough.

VIII is and has always been my favourite in the series.
I am very much looking forward to seeing more substantive representations of it in XIV

In before minute long ATE (Boost) during Eden XD...

That's what I thought after seeing the sprout, the boss is not the plant but the source of the light shining on it!...


Eden could be a really great boss, I've never actually seen it but the sprites in FFVIII, it would seem to be some kind of massive space ship or something, from the summoning sequence which I could never really understand!...

Eden was a Garden, like Balamb/Galbadia, but more advanced. (Either ancient Centran, or maybe from the future) So that's why it's like a spaceship.

FFXIV doesn't really have anything like FFVIIIs 'Gardens' so I doubt that's what Eden is going to be.
Also, we're not fighting Eden, we're using the powerof Eden, so I'm gessing it's not something holy-themed, but more natural, maybe tied to the Elementals.

Would love to fight in the middle of ichonic FFVIII garden *.*

Throwbacks and Nostalgia is nice and all but for every 8man Raid we have no original final bosses.

ARR was Bahamut
HW was Alexander
SB was Omega along with Kefka and Exdeath.

Idk, mate. Probably expecting too much from a game/franchise built on throwbacks.

Yeah but both Bahamut and Alexander ARE part of the Final Fantasy universe as a whole. Omega appeared in many titles as well, but it was the most obvious fanservice (Which I'm okay with). The originality comes from how they adapt this nostalgic content to XIV's lore. Also, realistically, it's a Final Fantasy game. Many of us have played many of these titles and we love to see past FF characters/places/bosses re-imagined here.

I think with the confirmed presence of FFIX via Vamo' all Flamenco and possibly Mt. Gulg, I hope we will have one tier raid from FFIX.
One other from FF VIII obviously (and maybe FF XIII).
