What's going to happen with Eureka's "The Baldesion Arsenal" 1 to 2 years from now?

Dead content will always be a thing in an MMO it seems, but they have alleviated this issue for some content with various things like WT in the past.

Savage content never seems to have that luxury however. Unfortunately for something like A8S the only incentive is a minion and achievements completion so even that is a struggle to give people a reason to do it when it is no longer relevant. But at the very least you could try to organize something through Party Finder and hope for the best.

Now here we are with Eureka and The Baldesion Arsenal. Going off the unofficial census, of the ACTIVE characters only 41.4% NA have participated in Eureka in some capacity. But only 5.8% NA reached the level 50 cap going into it. Of the active Eureka players the breakdown goes like:

Anemos = 55%
Pagos = 20.7%
Pyros Leveling = 9.9%
Pyros Capped = 14.4%

This brings me back around to my question. The drop off seems kind of obvious besides more capping than leveling in Pyros but given Hydatos release those numbers are now going to be spread out even further. Now imagine this same scenario years from now.

The first problem is that the content has built in hard cutoffs to even do the next. Unlike even lets say the savage raids which are eventually unlocked regardless OR the equipment requirements are naturally surpassed just playing the game. This can't even work for Eureka because of the mob levels in the different versions of Eureka.

The second problem is just the general lack of popularity, which is not an issue now but that isn't why I brought it up, it's about the future. What can they possibly do to "fix" it?

The last problem is "The Baldesion Arsenal" itself combined with all the above. It's early obviously but it at least seems well beyond a single parties abilities. Meaning even if you were to setup a party finder to do Eureka stuff you would need a lot more than that to get it done in the future which may not be possible...

Right now I am personally on Pyros but still stuck doing light in Pagos for my weapon. So with some effort I can reach the current progress without much trouble given the fact that it's a new thing still generating interest.

But what about the people who join the game later, like years later? Will they have any chance at all to complete this content? Is it just an accepted thing that people might not be able to do everything as time progresses?

Currently, all of Eureka is scaled based on the number of people present in the zone. I would not be at all surprised if The Baldesion Arsenal worked the same way.

If it does scale based on the number of people, then it's probably all doable if you get a handful of people together. With that said, I'm not sure how we'll find out one way or the other for quite some time.

Who knows? is the only real answer. It all depends on if they decide to "re-incorporate" the content again in newer content.
For example, I started playing this game at the tail end of ARR. I never got around to unlocking the CT raids until mid HW... and when I did, that content was dead.
30 min plus on queue. I sat in a 2hour queue for LotA to get it started once before finally throwing in the towel.

Then much later on in HW, they "re-incorporated" the CT raids in a step for the Anima relic. So I was finally able to get that content done.

Fast forward to SB, and they actually had to make some adjustments to LotA so they could get it to work for the Alliance Raid Roulette they added.


On the flipside though... Diadem has been pretty much completely abandoned, and it's barrier for entry is far less involved than Eureka.

Arsenal is fixed with its stats , requires atm at least 2 decent parties you want as many to 56 for all bosses as possible 1st boss is split into 2 separate rooms so you would need at least 2 people if unsync became a thing but they may leave it like ultimate who knows :p

While it might be scaled, try going into a dead instance and killing a NM. It's not going to happen. They're going to murder you. You'll need at least 8 people to do anything in Eureka.

Good luck with that in a year.

Going by stuff like PoTD 200/HoH 100, those rewards are still locked behind stuff that people don't do much anymore, I'm not sure if they will nerf it. Granted you don't need as many players to complete those but really it's the logistics involved which really make it annoying.

Sometimes they add more rewards later on to entice people to go back after the launch period. So that is something they could do, or nerf the entry requirements to make it more accessible but leave the actual content the same.

It's actually pretty easy to solo stuff if you abuse the ability to desync to recover.

But I will grant you that that doesn't apply to the highest NMs, and the Baldesion dungeon. It does at least make a good chunk of Eureka doable.

It will probably go the way of the Emergency Missions in Diadem 2.0. You might eventually get a horde of people interested in running it one time, there will be a Twitch stream or three for the event, and then even that comes and goes without too much of the community giving a damn that it did.

At least Diadem is still useful for gathering some materials reliably. Eureka will just be sluggish and boring for anyone choosing to try it in a year or two.

As for now all past relics are obtainable. I imagine they'll provide a way to acquire the one from eureka too. Baldesion Arsenal will remain as it is for challenge sake. It's an open end game dungeon right? I'm at Pyros too /cheers!

Maybe they will turn it into a mini 24 man trial like it should have been had Eureka not existed like it wasn't supposed to? /sarcasm....
