A friend is having problems installing the game and that is the error he gets when trying do update the updater/launcher. Can anyone help troubleshoot this?

I had the same problem back when I started playing with installing the game, even though I can patch fine now with the latest updates etc.
The way I went around it is to use VPN so tell him to try that. I use FlyVPN it is free and legal of course. Enable it after install before problem updates, then just don't forget to disable afterwards.

The error you are describing happens when there is a problem connecting to the game. What kind of connection set up do you have? Are you connected via WIFI or Ethernet cable? Has this happened in the past at all? What have you tried so far to alleviate the issue?
