So, it says that purchasing Shadowbringers also gives access to HW and SB... so if I wanted to invite a friend they should just buy the ARR starter edition and then wait for Shadowbringers?

They won't be able to level past 50, or access Heavensward or Stormblood content until July 2nd, when their code for Shadowbringers is plugged into the Mogstation. I don't believe the early access code worked, but i could be wrong.
Ahh thats true, but $40 for the standard edition and it gets you 3 expansions... sounds like a great deal to me... Even more so if you get the ARR starter edition through Twitch prime. Its essentially the whole game for $40? (Assuming you can wait...)
That's surprisingly awesome of SE.....
Twitch prime members will get the base game for free. Then buy the current ShadowBringers for 40, and it's basically all expansions lol. It's actually a steal of a deal, rather than buying the collector's editions to get the current game with the expansions right now. The only thing you'd lose out on overall is the mounts or minions and earring/leveling stuff for the first time player. As Valkyrie_Lenneth mentioned above, the only downside will be that they will not be able to go past 50 until that content is installed on the game. And the preorder bonuses for early access won't be till June/July. So they'd be sitting there a bit.
Early Access codes for Stormblood allowed people to play Heavensward also, so expect Shadowbringers EA to include HW+SB access.
The only expansion preorder people who don't get full access are people who pre-order the Complete Edition, which doesn't come with EA.
