An android race would be my absolute favorite. It would be really cool if we got the option one day!

It's probably that Yoko Taro wasn't content with just being in a 'crossover' event, like the MH:W one.
Likely he wanted to go full out on this and accepted nothing less.
Plus, the community kind of wanted the Nier:A style to be present in the game for a while, no?

Meaning if there were to be more races added in future, they'd be pre-existing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see any android-type races that aren't the Allagan Nodes.Quote:

What would an android race even look like? From what little I've seen of NieR, don't they look exactly like normal humans anyway? So in this version of the world they'd just look like any of the other races.
