Failed a Quest

Hi all,

I have been really enjoying the game so far. I have a question regarding a quest in my Duty Log. The quest was of the Guildleve type, and it involved killing some mobs in Thanalan. However, I didn't get around to attempting the quest until I was in the mid 20s levelwise and the Duty Log said it was a level 10 quest. When I went to area to do the quest, a warning appeared that the quest was too far below my level and I would incur a negative experience penalty or something similar. So I left the area and tried to abandon the quest, but it remains in my Duty Log with a red X next to it. Is there anyway to clear this out of my Duty Log?

Also, not sure if it is applicable here, but I have yet to do any type of leve quests.

If you open up your quest list and select that guildleve, there should be an "abandon" button.

The "penalty" is just forfeit the speed of completion exp bonus. But you don't have to worry much, if your level is so much higher, a % more of negligible exp is still negligible exp.

I'd suggest you to do levequests of your level or no less than 4 levels. Doing lower ones may have sense if you trying to do related challenge logs or achievements.

When you initiate a combat leve, there's an option to boost the level of the leve by up to 4 levels, and it'll recommend doing so if you're within that four level span. But +4 is the most you can add, so if you're five or more levels above, it's going to have that experience penalty. But at that point, the next tier of leves should be available, so you're better off doing those anyway. That ability to boost the level a bit just ensures that you can do on-level leves when you're in between the levels that add another tier.

Was this a leve unlock quest? You should do those as you won't be able to do any other leves from that npc and I think you need to have some done just for higher leve unlocks.
