New DoL Class: Beast Tamer
Since the Genie is out of the bottle on soloing jobs it's time for a good look at Beast Tamer, but it should be a Discipline of the Land class and not a DoW job. Let me explain the idea in detail.
Basically you charm a beast and do all the fighting by commanding the beast; yes like Pokemon style games.
Certain beast families would be weak to other families similar to FFXI's beast family:

Now to why it's a DoL Class; you can stable 5 beast and collect goods from them like horns, fur, mottle skins, etc. You could even make unique mounts and sell them to other players. Think of it like adding Rancher to the FFXIV.
Maybe a hunter DoL would surve better?
Was thinking if you wanted a animal based DoL that would lead to a beastary logs (much like the fishers fishing logs)
You could make a hunting class with a crossbow using darts and bolts (like bait and lures for fishers)
Its nods it could have
-nesting spots around the map that give you a FP view like what was added in stormblood with the darting missions, but your gather and perception controlling, the take down success and the zoom. gp could go it skills to improve your odds
-traps that you can set ? or find setting a timer to revisit a spot with a limit to the number you can set (expending a bait to reset with meat or veg)
The darts and bolts could be additional crafts for crp/bsm/alc
Out side of the hunting nest nods it could be one of the few DoL that gets exp from open world mob kills
so give it a few skills to use in combat but make in far more clunky than DoW/DoM (as a way to separate it as not one of those)
like a load bolt with a long cast timer and separate aimed shot skill. (bit like a two stage blue mage 1000 needles skill on early mobs)
how ever it always drops some sort of tokens (carcase) that you can choose to "harvest" at some point to desired drops or even new materials from the mob (there are a bunch of materials on the MB that seem like monster drop that don't drop already like ladybeetle wings etc)
have it come out of gridania I could see main reasons for this or interesting stories and themes like;
-a sort of game warden (finding traps set by poachers)
also controlling poaching to some degree if they have a guild of hunters who use the crossbow and anyone fold by the wailers hunting with other methods would quickly spotted as poaches and allow better control over who's hunting
-sure gridania's seem less in cline to eat meat for reasons of elementals, but that's ignoring the miqo'te keepers that have been living in the shroud all the while the elezen and hyur were living under it that must have been hunting
as well as the Ltw guild need pelts from somewhere and a hunting guild could be held to task about the animals other parts not going to waste.
-separating archery from hunting
I'm sure there would be more than a few elezen that would like that idea
-guilding a hunting guild in gridania could be presented as away to expand gridanian ideas about hunting and not wasting life or hunting in excess.
