More Questions
So I got a couple more questions
Thanks in advance for the help
1. What is the recovery rate on anima?
2. Can I move my retainer to another city and if yes, how?
3. What are some good ways to make gil pre lvl50?
4. How do alt class equipped skills work, do they cap like FFXI ie half your mains lvl or are they just set at the lvl of that classes skill? (like equiping lvl 40 cnj cure on lvl 30 gld)
5. Anyone know where I can find a good stat spreadsheet? So I'll know things like whether +20 def is as good / better then +4 vit.
6 How do you dye armor, is it done during crafting or can I do it to stuff I buy?
-
1. Anima regenerates at the rate of 1 point every 4 hours.
2. It is as simple as calling your retainer in the market of what ever city you are currently located in.
3. It is going to vary depending on server and its demand for items in the markets. I recommend spending a couple of hours analysing the markets in Uldah, to get a handle on what items are in short supply and whether you can obtain them.
4. The alt skills scale to your main class, not the class the skill is derrived.
5. Cant help there, sorry :)
6. Currently you dye items after they are crafted, you cannot re-dye an item yet but it has been mentioned that it is on its way sometime.
5 out of 6 aint bad :)

To assist further with NÂș4
The number of cross-class skills you can equip is based on your primary class's level, the higher the level the more cross-class you can tack on, it ranges from 2 to 10.

Thanks for the quick answers
Is there a good site out there that can answer any other questions that might come up, finding other site's haven't been updated since forever and LodeStone doesn't have a database that I see.

http://mooglebox.com/includes/index.php <- Mooglebox is a good database site
http://xivpads.com/ <- XIV Pads is also neat for keeping track of your own stuff and seeing what you're missing

Lodestone does have item recipes, menu/basic stat information, materia information, and a bunch of other stuff, check out the "Play Guides" section, it looks completely up-to-date now. Skill/abilities you can simply check in your ability menus in-game. Turn the popup help on in-game and you can mouse over stats and get a general idea of what they do, as well.

About #5, I don't believe a whole lot of research has been done so far, especially since the game is in a high state of flux at the moment with things being changed around. However, one recent change is that each discipline has two stats that determine the damage of their automatic melee (And archer's Light Shot ability), and there was some juggling around in what stats do as well. You can read about these changes in the Patch 1.20 patch notes.
Now, that said... in that exact example you have up there, I'd say the +20 defense, based on looking at the materia available. Both defense and vit materia cap out at 16-20 for tier IV, so assuming SE actually did their job in balancing (And it's entirely possible they didn't), then 20 defense should be about on par with 20 vitality, most likely being more purely defensive as vitality also does other things such as max HP and marauder damage. Another reason to go with the 20 defense over the 4 vit is that you're gonna have an assload of the stats you need when you hit 50, 4 VIT is gonna be a drop in the bucket and very likely won't amount to diddly squat. Hell, the 20 defense is probably a drop in the bucket too. In fact, there's actually videos up of people taking down high level mobs wearing nothing but holiday event gear. Outside of the stats on your weapon for DoW (As that's where basically all your attack and accuracy comes from), gear doesn't contribute much. It's something a number of people are annoyed about.
