Can we stop derailing feature requests and support each other?

I see this every single time someone requests one of the most urgent features. If someone makes a thread asking for a bigger item limit in large houses and mediums, someone else comes in and says "I don't care about more items. Just fix the interactionable item limit." If someone makes a thread about fixing the interactionable item limit, someone else comes in and says "that's not a priority. Just give us more outdoor items." Or worst of all, someone who has no clue about decorating comes in and says "we don't need more items. I decorated my mansion with 20 items. What the hell are you doing wrong?"

None of this is helpful. Saying those things just makes it look to the Devs like none of our issues have priority or even worse, are important. It actually makes it look like we DON'T need any of those features, when in reality, we ALL want ALL of those features.

So, instead of working against each other and undermining a request for a feature because we have different priorities we should support each other in threads that may be our second or third priority and then make our own thread about our own priority, so they can come and support us. If the devs start seeing that those features are important they will implement whatever is possible. It's actually more likely that one of those will be implemented if another was implemented first. It means they're paying attention.

You're jumping to conclusions when you assume everyone wants everything. Not everyone does. You also seem to confuse need with want with the way you used them together in that sentence. We all have things we want and would like to see added/changed but that doesn't mean those things are needed.

It's a general forum for feedback. Players are free to agree or disagree based on what they personally want. It's not working against each other, it's expressing a different opinion about what they personally feel would make for a better game experience.

Developers still get additional feedback from other sources as well since only small percentage of players use the official forums. Safe to say that just because one person replies in the forums that they don't feel something is necessary isn't going to translate into the developers thinking that no players want it.

I agree about hijacking threads to discuss other things. If someone wants to bring up a different subject, they should go to a thread that already exists for that subject or start one if they can't find an existing thread.

I support a poster's opportunity to state their opinion as long as they stay within the rules of the forum. It doesn't mean I'm going to blindly support the opinion itself if I don't agree with it.

Expecting to get 100% support for everything one says is unrealistic. Not everyone wants the same thing.

The irony is I supported the OP in a thread that I suspect prompted the creation of this one.

Also, pointing out potential issues with a request (not everybody has the same experiences, pov, or knowledge) can actually prompt a discussion about how to get around the issue and make the suggestion a better one. When somebody says "they can't feasibly do x because of y", that leaves room to come back and say "okay, how about x with z change?" And that might even be a solution that hasn't been thought of yet.

I agree in principle, in practice though Y is quite often a wild assumption totally lacking in evidence.

This is true. However, we already ignore the many, many "lolz no" or "random meme" responses to threads, so "ofc they can't, bc ps3" or whatever can just be ignored, too xD

You don't have to agree with everything but the three things I mentioned are priorities for a lot of players. Coming into a thread that you know a lot of people and just say "no this isn't needed" because you personally don't care for it is a shitty thing to do.

I'm not saying you have to support every single idea that comes up. I'm saying you don't have to go in and derail a conversation that people have been trying to bring up over and over.

Maybe I'm exaggerating by saying "we all" want x but I know that the vast majority of decorators want those three issues to be taken care of.

I wasn't referring to any post in particular. I have seen the same topics being brought up over and over by different people both here and in other channels and the same thing always happens.

As far as pointing out why something might not work, I don't see that as derailing at all. That's a very appropriate conversation as long as it deals with the topic on hand.
