Crafting/Gathering Help
So, I've been leveling my stuff through Levekits and Beast Tribes since I heard these are valuable to have, only to wind up hitting a few setbacks.
First is that crafting things from SB is proving more difficult than I expected, even at Level 65 with almost entirely Level 65 gear.
Second is that I'm unable to craft or gather some things due to not having specific recipe books. I'm told I need scrips for this, but Collectables are only once a week.
Finally, I don't really have much in terms of Materia for either of these, nor any idea as to how to get some beyond hoping I get lucky with Mutamix.
What is the best way to alleviate these problems? I've been enjoying making furniture for my room, but I would like to be more efficient at the overall process.

Crafting for the Beast Tribe quests is fairly easy. The Ixal quests can be tricky (but easier than they used to be), but Moogle and Namazu crafting is no problem at all.
Making HQ items for levequests can require a bit of luck unless you start out with HQ materials. NQ items should be no problem at all as long as your gear is even half-way decent.
You can turn in Collectable items to Rowena's employees as often as you wish. This will give a small amount of scrips. Custom Deliveries are once per week and give a lot of scrips.
There is also a possibility of having your GC Squadron return scrips.
The first two tiers of Master recipes (level 50 recipes) do not require any scrips to get. Tiers 3-4 (level 60 recipes) and 5-6 (level 70 recipes) are bartered for with Red Scrips.
If you did the Ixal quests while leveling your crafters to level 50 you should be drowning in Tier IV DoH/DoL materia. Again your Squadron have the possibility of returning these.
Otherwise the easiest source of Materia is the Marketboard. The really good ones will be expensive though.

Another very valuable source of crafting/gathering exp is your grand company. Assuming you got your rank high enough, they have a daily turn in(supply and provisioning missions) that can be worth as much as half a level a day(1/8-1/2 is the range) per crafting and gathering class. With the right cross-class skills and a well thought out rotation you shouldnt be having too much trouble crafting things, so im wondering if youve ever read a good guide on the subject. The best ive personally seen is Caimie's, which is linked from here and includes some discussion. Its also probly important to note that your level plays a bigger role in crafting post 60 then you may have felt before that. This makes it so crafting over-level recipes is especially tough(and even on-level recipes are a little harder), something to be aware of when deciding what to make.
And as for scrips, Mistake has the right idea. Your Custom Deliveries are a large weekly influx of them, but Rowena's House has a rotating daily list of items you can make for scrips. The only limit to how many you can make in a day is how much time and resources you have to play with. Check your timers menu to see what she's asking for today. If Rowena isnt on the list of your timers menu, then the unlock quest is in Ishgard("Inscrutable Tastes"). Once youve bought your recipe books, collectables are another good source of higher tier materia - the red scrip vendor sells tier 4 and 5(25 and 200 each respectively). Theres also a yellow scrip vendor who sells the tier 6's(500 yellows each).

I see. Thank you both for your advice. I will be certain to take that to heart!
I was so bogged down with trying to make everything HQ that I didn't even consider just turning in NQ.
