Gardening needs an update.

I know most people would who garden would probably agree that we need a "tend all" or "fertilize all" option, and I agree. But I think it would also be nice to see some other changes.

First off, I would like to see the need to tend plants be on a 25 hour cycle instead of a 24. My reasoning for this is I would like to tend to my plants at the same time (when possible) daily, also to be on the safe side of things, I tend to tend my plants a minimum of 1 hour prior to them withering. This means I will tend them at 10, then 9...8...7 and so on. Typically I reset this every few days to be later and night by tending twice a day. With a 25 hour clock I could tend my plants at 10PM every night and have no issues.

Second, I would like to see the cross breed altered so the first plant isn't wasted every time... It's always seemed such a crappy and wasteful system to me.

lastly, and this sort of goes back to the tend all/fertilize all I think while fertilizing the plant should also be considered tended.

how is the game supposed to determine what you're trying to cross breed when you plant one at a time? or are you trying to suggest that the game should create a gardening plot plan so that you pre-select what you're going to plant and then click a button that says "plant all"? kinda ruins the immersion of gardening.

Cross pollination in real life happens after the plants start to bloom, not the second they are put in the ground.

Call me lazy, but I want to be able to hire an NPC gardener who can 'tend' things for me automatically. Having to log in every day just to click on a few plants feels like a waste of time. Even better would be some kind of interface where I can plan a garden, hand over soil and seeds, and have the gardener take care of planting/harvesting/tending/replanting for x number of days (maybe 30?).

If you don't want anything more from gardening than to get the resulting items, you can buy them off the marketboard. Instead of hiring an NPC to do it for you, you'd effectively be hiring players to do it for you, but it amounts to the same thing.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm not interested in just buying things off the MB. That is not a satisfactory solution to a post about improving the gardening feature.

I am not only interested in gardening items, nor did I ever claim to be in my post. I am interested in planning the garden, gathering the seeds and soil, and planning a path to an item. I like exploring the gardening system. I am ok with waiting for the plants to mature. I like playing solo and get a lot of satisfaction from being self-sufficient. I also, like the OP, do not like the daily log in to click all the plants. RL happens, and I am not always available to log in every day to click plants. I'm making a suggestion for what I think would be an interesting housing feature. I am not asking someone to troubleshoot my lack of enjoyment of plant clicking by suggesting I totally disengage from the gardening feature. If I didn't like gardening I wouldn't be posting here in the first place.
