SMN problem with HoH....!!!!

please fix SMN pet aggro in this dungeon...!!!

Feel like this dungeon is not for SMN at all, pet will auto engage to enemy when being hit by random AoE attack, and even if you turn off pet AI for them to follow you just to be able to use bahamut summon only, and it getting hit by AoE, that enemy will go forward and searching for the target as well

And you also have to be extreme carefully when summon bahamut, because once bahamut turn back to normal, the battle stance will be reset to either obey or sic

playing as SMN in HoH is very tiresome, and in some floor i have to make my pet withdraw or else it might risk of party wipe, and now i have to temporary change to bard (not my main DPS job) for the sake of HoH

In any situation if the pet is set to Obey, it will attack the first target you are attacking and stay on that one unless you change otherwise. If the original target dies then the pet will attack the next eneny you are attacking. I mean if you have a party it's not difficult to manage your pet is just like normal duty, but if it was solo like Eureka then yes some players may avoid summoning Bahamut as the aggro goes straight to the caster. But the battle stance will always be whatever you left it in either Sic or Obey etc. If you think you'll get hit by a random aoe then just get the pet to Follow you (Steady), not attacking till you are ready to engage.

not extractly, when pet being put on either sic or obey, it will attack any target that you are attacking, but, if you are not attack anything, then it will auto counter attack any enemy that attack it, it's very bad in HoH, because that bahavior will make your pet run accord the room to search for that enemy that sometime do random AoE attack, and if it dead then all of the aggro will be transfer to you

and something i'm not so sure need more time to test out, that if you turn off your pet AI and make them follow you only and it get hit by AoE attack, it's might not run to search out for enemy that do this attack, but will still change to engage mode and make a target line toward that enemy, so that enemy will also trigger to the combat and come to search for you

and everytime when you summon bahamut out, you need to remember to turn pet AI off because it will be set back to either sic or obey by default

not to mention that from floor 71+ all enemy can 1 or 2 shot your pet if it be catch in AoE attack that make you have to re summon it out if you want to keep your damage output

Sounds like you have to keep it on Steady when not engaging an enemy. That way it wont attack even if it gets aggro unless you command it.

yeah, and also alway keep your eye on your pet all the time to manual command it, i'm not say clear floor 100 with smn is impossible because i did it, but it's very tiresome compare with other job

Not all Jobs are identical, so it's to be expected that some will have advantages over others.

That is absolutely a change that should be made to the SMN's pet AI: a lot of enemies attack out of combat and it's just unnecessary complications to have one's pet go on the attack automatically, especially when that will most likely get you killed.

I had no problems with my pet clearing floor 100 today I just use the heel command whenever he got hit by random aoes, although the only thing I did find bothersome was how easily the pet dies to aoes especially at the later floors
