I think it's time for SE to remove the item restrictions on Grand Company items. We are half way through Stormblood and it just outdated at this point. If a player obtains grand company item (Hunts, Quartermaster, achievements) they should be able to wear it, glamour while leveling up another grand company.
PvP was the only reason to restrict Grand Company and that requirement is long dead.

It always bothered me that the only recent addition we've had to the GC line up of items were the squadron jackets and basically nothing else of note, aside from crafting materials that came with the new ranks. It's like they had an interesting idea but then scrapped it halfway through, or like they just don't know what to do with GC's.Quote:

GCs as a whole are pretty outdated even on a story-front. From being a greenhorn adventurer who just joined the Scions and could use the backup, we're a one WoL army who can make our own armies if we so chose, who has all the GCs indebted to us, and we only keep making allies. Hell, we arguably conquered the Steppe and they all have to do what we say, and they even dragged themselves over to the Eorzea for us.
About the one thing that MAYBE I can think of that would tie you to a GC is the squad, but don't they go with you? So even that's irrelevant. -

If people really want to change just change company complete items and switch back >.>. It's not like you lose progress for your current company and can always go back. Just takes a fee and time.

The entire notion of the individual GC's has been abandoned to focus on them as a united front with faction differences meaning little to nothing anymore outside of a few changes in dialogue here and there like if you're part of a specific GC the NPC's of the same GC often refer to you by rank instead of name. Due to the direction of the story I don't see them dialing it back and focusing back on our specific factions any time soon, right now all the focus is on the alliance and fighting against the empire.Quote:

The only time such things mattered was in the very start before you could go between the city-states, but even then it was ultimately the same story-line with changes that were redundant in the long run. Namely, really nothing worth investing development time in. If anything, they'd force us to play peacemaker, but for that sort of storyline belonging to any one GC is actually detrimental. They should just let us be full on freelancers on account of our reputation and be grateful for whatever crumbs we decide to throw their way.Quote:

giving you my support, trying the get all pvp mount (working on mael one) it sadden me that i can't use immortal flame horse or bardings because i'm not in the GC anymore (i worked hard for it let me enjoy it)

All the Maelstrom items (Hunts, Achievement, GC Seal purchase) I had glamour are no longer usable because my GC is now Adder instead of Maelstrom. The to SE is why can't they change this now?Quote:
