Hunting Log already completed

Character name: Nicolas'de Concepcion
Class/Level: Lancer lvl 4
Party or solo: solo
In-game time: 9:16
Steps:
1. Create an alternate character on my main server
2. complete level 1 lancer quest which unlocks the hunting log
3. view hunting log to see i have lancer entries up to level 30 completed already

My best guess would be that hunting log (as well as map completion) is shared among all characters on a given account, however I couldn't find anything detailing that online.

Can confirm that this is not the case—all new characters have “blank slates” regardless of the progress of the main character on the account. I’ve been leveling an alt on BRD lately, and she has been getting all mapping achievements as per usual, and I had to manually complete her Hunting Log despite having it done on my main. So this is definitely a bug. :)

I got this on one new character as well. For me it cleared up by simply logging out and logging in again, after which the hunting log showed the correct state.

Neither hunting log nor map completion is shared among characters.

I did what you said you did and just logged into the character again now, and while the hunting log did reset as far as maps go i zoned into north shroud to test it and i uncovered all of the map in one go and got the achievement. I'm glad the hunting log was resolved though, must have been because i was recently on my main before i switched.
