PlayOnline ID/Password Recovery

I play FF ( ATM ) via Steam, AM trying to contact customer support to ask a question which had been posted here on the forums, but no one seems to know the answer, so......
Now the site is asking for the play online ID, which I had thought would be MY Square Enix ID which it is apparently NOT, because the site keeps saying form error. I suppose since I play FF via Steam I do NOT have a SE play online ID, so I have no idea how to contact SE customer service since the phone number is NOT toll free I'm NOT going to call them.
Any ideas ????
