I just encounter probably the most "snobby" healer in this game, pls dont be like him

usually when your duty start, people just randomly say "hello" or "hi" sort of greeting like in real life right? well, not this guy.

the moment duty start, the guy give a list.... yes a list for tank and dps what we need to do or else he will kick (if he lead) or leave (after 15 minutes).

the list goes from basic such as avoid aoe, use mitigation skill, to downright absurd like pull one mob only, wait if healer mp below 60%, make sure all enemy dead before move on, etc.

iam not joking, when the tank pull guy keep repeating (spam) "avoid aoe, use mitigation skill" on chat bar. later tank got impatient and start pulling 2 mobs (6 enemy total) and he literally stop healing and start complaining "can you even tank?" "i said one mob only" "no no iam not going to heal, your fault"

suffice to say, he got kick immediately the moment 15 minutes kick in.

believe me or not, this guy real, i just encounter him roughly 30 minutes ago after i post this, iam still in total disbelieve. how can this person goes through to level 70? is this guy trolling? try to make a videogame youtube drama? hacked account? we end up talking about this healer after we finish our duty lol

iam not going to post his name obviously but all i can say is he's from ramuh server, lalafell and whm.

iam not saying healer is bad because iam sure this kind of person is like 1 among 1000, but i still cant put it in my head with this kind of behavior

I don't speak at all, funnily enough. One example of it all being relative/individual.

There are a few people like this - they've probably had plenty of awful experiences, enough that their 'reaction' is the macro in a shopping list. Unfortunately for them, no matter what the reason, it simply comes across as both annoying and snooty.

If they have to resort to lecturing with macros then they are the epitome of bad Healing. Healing is both a proactive and reactive role where even if people abide by such macros, things will go wrong, so to expect everything to go by a preset rule-book of their own making (and the fact they want 1 by 1 pulls only, in a game where there is no reason to do this other than gear/ilevel limitations), then they are a terrible Healer (and seemingly a terrible person if they want to waltz into groups and start dictating).

Now, imagine them walking into a PF Savage group and spewing that macro - they'd be shown the door very, very quickly.

i'll be honest, i never met this kind of person, close to this kind of attitude? yes, but never i see one who make list and act like he is sort of king, so this is actually new for me.

Back during 2.0 and PLDs flash was on a 3.5s GCD, and generated less threat than a savage blade, it was frustrating as heck to have each DPS full focus on 2 different mobs when you dont have rage of halone yet. (This problem was pretty much unique to Halatali, as the started 3 dungeons DPS didnt have as much options to burst their DPS at the start.)

I had a macro explaining the (1) mark on enemies head, as no one ever attacked the (1).
My assumption is that people thought it was some warning to avoid, even with the (1).

Of course the reality is, people purposely ignored the (1), me not realizing this right away, made a macro to explain it, to which people were even more annoyed by.

But eventually I realized when people ignored the (1), that actually made tanking easier, because I already knew which mob people would fight, which was the non marked mobs.
So my mark macro put up a (1) and a (2) which I knew people would pick the last remaining mob instead, and I of course used reverse psychology on them to get them to attack the mob I wanted.
All I had to do was always attack mobs in reverse order, and I would be hitting the mob every DPS would be focusing on.

Only encountered a DPS once who purposely switched off w/e I had hate on, to which I already noticed right away, and since they wanted it, I was fine with it. I dont care if people WANT to have the hate, just when people spend the whole run complaining they got hit just once back at the start of the dungeon, and wont stop going on about it.

Luckily as we got to HW, I stopped seeing people complain like this, and PLD got buffed to actually hold hate reasonably. (Mostly with a fix to Flash being a 2.5s GCD, and having more threat attached to it. And of course less Halatali runs, with all dungeons having the mobs nerfed, so even if you dont run them perfectly, no one cares. Of course this now means I can solo Halatali as most jobs at Lv20.)

Not all macroes start off being a "snobby" response, but when ppl take it as such, the macro will grow worse as people continue to be jerks back, only escalating it.

Well you better get used to it. When you've spent any length of time playing X or Y game, you'll always meet that online hero who feels it's their duty to tell everyone else how to play, either due to their own self-righteousness or above-mentioned "I had a bad experience. I could have moved on like any normal person, but I think I'll just macro-rant. Maybe that might prevent people from being like the others". Either way, it's just sad and obnoxious when it comes to 'team content' where the best results are from everyone chipping in and doing their best.

Example, I've met tanks who psyche-up their own importance in chat, using their 'role' as a beating stick whenever something they don't like happens (or is said). Now, a Tank is the spearhead of the group who sets the pace, it's true, and as a Healer I'll happily speed-up or slow-down as their ilevel or confidence (or lack of) demands, but when I see a "Tank Overlord Supremos" - the "I'm the tank, the boss, the big man. You do as I command or thou shalt be punished" -- (of which there are plenty), then you can either fall in line or show them they have no real power. I don't have to Heal them, I can let them die and heal the DPS alone, especially in low-level content (which is, ironically, where this attitude is most prominent, despite tanks being more of a luxury there).

Don't get me started on the above "Healer" - As one of the most aggressive WHM's you'll meet in content, I cringe any time I see AFK Healing when I'm playing Tank/DPS, but to throw nonsense macros on-top of it, then spend 70% of the dungeon watching my over-geared tank being whittled to 30% by double-trash packs over 20 seconds, then throwing out one-cure and calling it a day... That is the type of poor play and laziness that makes me wish I could strangle people through the internet.

At the end of the day, we'll ALL encounter situations or players that just don't fit. What's important is how you react vs what you want to achieve from the content. I have no problem trying to teach a lesson, but I do also want to get things done. Sometimes I'll keep quiet and endure, other times I'll just leave. If I wanted to do something less productive than sit around enduring a flame-war or people holding up the group because their ego needs a good stroking, then I'd rather leave the dungeon entirely and pick my nose in search of gold nuggets.

Nobody said anything about 'all macros'. You're comparing a very deliberate macro explaining a particular issue, to a macro that produces a demand-list for an entire dungeon/the game itself, devised by person who will probably stop playing when those individual rules aren't upheld. Your macro was one of convenience - and judging by your response, you trucked on even when it wasn't considered - yet the above two people aren't saying "Hi, I have a particular problem - I'd appreciate if you compromise". They are saying "I am a delicate flower. This is how it will be, for no reason other than because I say so".

Im literally saying the macro you're talking about, most likely originated with a macro like my own. I'm explaining how seeing the end result doesnt show the evolution of that macro. They didn't start the game thinking that way, they had poor experiences, with people who would poorly argue against their perspectives, most likely with "git gud" and of course that only fueled them into thinking they were the right one all along, even though they werent.
(Trust me, my macro got more aggressive for a bit, until I realized I could use that aggression to manipulate people, which I guess was still aggressive, even though it's intent was to make people not listen to it.)

That macro is an old meme, Chloe. No need to response seriously to begin with.

These healers need to get over themselves! I would have laughed my way through this entire dungeon.

I would vote kick that healer. Per a GM conversation I've had: "If a player is not working well with the party and that person's kick is put to a vote. It's okay to votekick."

If the healer is causing you grief. Put it to a vote.
