Are the fringes going to remain eternally burning?

It’s been three patches now. Why is the fire still burning? Shouldn’t all the war machine parts be burnt out by now? I don’t get it.

War isn't over for those who haven't done it yet. So it will remain like that, same as Yanxia.

FIX THIS and delay Eureka another few patches!!! Can't have too many changes at once!

I'm certain there's a way to make the flames change client side like the moogle quest area changes.

Jokes aside, I think it would be neat if they revisited the SB areas and took out the Garlean leftovers (for those who would be at that point in story of course).

That sounds like more work than it'd be worth putting in, trying to change areas client-side to reflect time passing.

Especially when it's well established that the amount of Eorzean time that passes is nearly static. Or looping. Or whatever suspension of disbelief you need to use to ignore time passing for some things and not others.
