It's been years now, can you please fix deck restrictions for us OR the NPCs?

With all the quality of life changes we've been getting over the years and how the developers seem to listen to the players requests no matter how small, how has the triple triad deck restrictions not been addressed?


Initially the players are incentivized to collect cards because the more they have the higher their deck limits can go, this is generally fine. But then it rather abruptly stopped when initially introduced. This was at 60 cards. We are now OVER 200 cards and these same restrictions are still applied.


If the "issue" is that the player's deck would be too strong, that is also fine if we are going to follow that standard. However this goes out the window when the NPCs do NOT follow any restrictions. They are ignoring the "rules" set in-game with no valid reason.


Isobe has THREE five-star cards and FOUR four-star cards, with one two-star card that just happens to be one of it's drops. That is seven cards that are above three-star and yet the player is only allowed ONE? How does that make any sense?


- Suggestion #1 = Remove deck restrictions from PLAYER decks when above 100+ cards or entirely.


- Suggestion #2 = Fix NPC decks to be inline with the player deck restrictions if they are kept.

- Suggestion #3 = Fix the drop rate so it isn't terrible and having to play so many matches or dungeon runs for even the lower star cards.

If players could have stronger decks, of if NPC decks were "nerfed", it would make most if not all NPCs faceroll easy and make MGP even more mindless to farm than it already is.

It's kept the way it is to create a stronger challenge.

That wouldn't have to be true at all. That's like saying playing against another player with a similar deck is faceroll easy, it isn't, you have to actually use your brain a little or at least pay attention to the rules. They could also put the NPCs into different tiers, so some can stay weak then others could have an entire deck with 5 star cards.



They could also make some of the AI smarter if they felt like it. So it wouldn't be so cut and dry, especially with the way the rules work.


I'd also say there isn't much of a challenge as is after the initial deck building of good cards, the "challenge" is the drop rates and having to win over 50-100 times to get the good cards. That isn't difficulty, that's just tedious for the sake of being tedious.


I'd like to see a quote and official response from them on the matter if you know that's what they've said about it "for the billionth time".

I dont know that theres ever been an official dev response on this. The billion times its been mentioned are players answering other players confused or upset that the NPCs use stronger decks then we do. Its the "common sense" answer - some NPCs have "cheater" decks to create artificial difficulty tiers without having to re-write the AI for the game. Though the devs do listen to feedback at least a little. We dont see nearly as many NPCs with Random+Chaos as their rule set as we did in the past.

Change the restriction to a total, so you can have 17 stars in the deck.

Instead of 3+3+3+3+5 you might try other combinations like 4+4+4+4+1 or 2+2+5+5+3.

What I would want however is something akin to what rufalus said (for players only) so it's not just 3 and 5 stars being played

Q17: For Triple Triad, even if we’re able collect rare cards, because there are limitations for the card set up, we are limited to the cards we can use. Would you consider easing up on these limitations?

This might be a bit old, but I can agree. Isobe is the last NPC I need to finish getting a card from (Hisui & Kurenai) and it feels almost impossible to win against them. Invariably, my best card is taken while I wind up with Ango or Calofisteri, and now I have multiple cards to contend with that have As from every angle. I can't even set up Plus reliably due to Chaos.
