So I was looking at traditional scythe users in FF games online and the only "job" outside of FFXI's Dark Knight is Remedi's Battle Queen "job" in Tactics advanced, she is an enemy boss, but still it'd be cool to turn her concept into a class so that we can have scythes. I feel kind of bummed out that Dark Knight wields a Great Sword in XIV and was mostly better with a Great Sword in XI because I played Dark Knight to be a super edgy scythe wielder. With Dark Knight being a Great Sword tank in XIV there is really no traditional class/job in the franchise that could fit a scythe wielder, but I want my scythe. :(

Scythes are already in the game though, as a sub-tool for BTN like how they are meant to be (scythes are an agricultural tool used for reaping wheat and grains). Or if you want a scythe weapon, Edda's scythe from PotD is in the game anyway for multiple Jobs (bought on the Mogstation), so I don't think you will ever see a specific scythe using DoW class added (to say nothing of even FFXI's use of it being only added as an afterthought in a patch and was not part of the DRK Job originally by default, given DRK has traditionally been a sword/great sword user in past FF games like FFXI and even it's origin in FFII).
Either way, if you want to wield a great scythe, just buy Edda's one and glamour it to your great sword. As I do not see SE bothering with adding it as an actual class I'm sorry to say. -

Scythes weren't just a harvesting tool in the old days, they were also used at the same time as a weapon, so your first point is null. Going further down that logic, both Warrior and Botanist use an axe, so I don't see the point of your first statement at all. One further point on that section is scythes and sickles are not actually the same thing, scythes generally have a long handle with a curved blade and sickles will have either a short handle or a long handle with a side grip.
Saying "oh there's a cosmetic scythe just be happy with that" is a terrible argument as well. Not to mention arguing that Drk is traditionally a great sword user when I acknowledged that in my post is actually just a waste of everyone's time. Drk was a great sword user, but it was also the ONLY job that could equip endgame scythes in FFXI. Making it a Scythe job. Sure it preformed better with Great Sword, but Great Sword never really became the go-to weapon until Resolution came out. -

I personally don't think SE will ever add a Scythe-based job. Would be nice to have, but we already had this debate before without any official response. it's unlikely. However, I'd like if they introduce it. Supporting it anyways. -

As you can no doubt see, even those that had no implements of war knew better than to use the scythe as it was and not make adjustments needed to make the tool more practical as a weapon.
I do sympathize, truly. However if you want to present something as fact, one must present it factually.
Here's my idea for a Mytic Knight, think Dragoon from FFXI but instead of a wyvern, perhaps an owl, or flip the whole thing and make him a Necromancer with a spirit.
