"A fatal DirectX error has occurred (10000000)"
Hi there, this is my first post here on the forums and sadly not for a nice reason. :(
Following Windows 10 23rd November 2017 update, I can't play FFXIV in DirectX11 anymore... I have tried countless solutions and I've been reading tons of threads regarding this issue but I can't find a way to get this work, sadly.
Simply put, following said W10 update, when I press Play in the FFXIV Launcher I get this message on top of a black screen: "A fatal DirectX error has occurred (10000000)" following the client closure.
Before this update, I had no problems at all, I played 3 weeks with a Free Trial and then bought the full game from SE store to keep playing, no crashes, no FPS drops, everything was cool.
After W10 update, I can't even launch the game, everytime I press Play I get the message above... what I tried so far is:
- updating my GPU drivers to the latest (my GPU is Nvidia GeForce 960 GTX btw) with a clean installation;
- switching my GPU settings around (energy saving, etc.) as suggested in other threads;
- reinstalling FFXIV client;
- reverting W10 update (which actually worked, confirming this was what broke the game for me)
The only way I have to get in-game right now is either switching off DX11 mode and play with DX9, or revert W10 update, still, both of them are not real solutions and I would like to know if anyone had better luck than me in fixing this issue.
Please help!
