I think it's time we get 10 WT stickers per week

3 lines now offer the current best land/hand gear which is also locked behind specialist recipes. The chances of getting 3 lines are so low that it is very seldomly ever achieved by people, even after repeated shuffling until chances are optimal. Factor in the fact that RNG favors failure a bit more than success, especially at crucial times, and it's really just a slap in the face.

If we could apply 10 stickers a week though instead of 9 our chances would improve considerably, but not too considerably so as to retain the value of the prizes. After all, at this point it's either this or remove 3 line prizes entirely so as to stop waving it in our faces and taunt us with a "nyah nyah you can't have me!".

Wondrous Tales offered the best crafting/gathering gear with 9 stickers in HW, why should it be any different in SB? The point is for the items to be incredibly rare and valuable when someone is able to get three lines. The addition of a tenth sticker makes a very large number of three line options open up, and gives existing three line setups an extra 1/7 chance to complete. This tilts the odds fairly dramatically. I don't have the stats background to calculate exactly how much it increases the odds, but it is far more significant than you are making it out to be.

I think you underestimate RNG. Even a 10% chance is more likely to fail than it should be, which says a lot.

I'd be happy with being able to "save" rewards for future weeks if you get 3 lines but don't like the rewards that week you can use it on a future week's reward. Like before this week the best reward to grab was the 70 battle body pieces. If you got 3 lines on say striking week but didn't play any melee classes it would be completely useless for you.

I understand that WT is all "bonus" but a ton less people are doing it now compared to when it first came out so it takes longer to get all of your stickers if you don't get a lot of boxes that can be soloed. And like you said the HUGE time sync of farming shuffles just for the tiny chance of a chance the shuffle even gives you a chance.

The problem is RNG and the odds of ever getting 3 lines as is. There's a fine line between rare rewards being valuable and impossibly rare rewards you will probably never get and are therefore pointless to put effort in attempting without overall wasting your time, except to tease the playerbase. I mean seriously farm a bunch of shuffles for hours and finally have a shot at 3 lines only to end up with none and then you will see the problem.

The Items you get are not unique to WT, only the fact they have more safe materia slots. Just get the normal crafted ones and overmeld with lower grade 5/4 materia. :eek:
It's not as if you need those safe slots, just a fancy thing to have, so not worth to worry too much about it.

As said before, this has been going on since WT's introduction. It's nothing new. You can either shell out the gil to buy it off the MB or invest that same amount of Gil in buying the materia needed to overmeld it similarly. Alternatively, that same amount of luck needed to successfully overmeld is the same luck you'd need to get the WT variation in the first place. And that's how it's been up to now, so I don't see why bring it up now.
If anything I'd sooner ask for a mid-tier. Something like the item with a single extra materia slot for a total of 3 instead of 3 extra for a total of five. That would already make a world of a difference but would be much more easily obtained via 2 lines.
Adding another sticker breaks the system outright.
