Free trial registration
My friend downloaded the free trial of the game through steam, until coming to the problem of registration.
He made the account through this website :
http://freetrial.finalfantasyxiv.com/gb/
Registration was complete and he got an email for verification.
However now after actually trying to login with the same information he got this :

After many searches through google I found out that many people had this problem, however none actually had a solution.
I suspected that the account actually didn't initialize the free trial option.
So he went back to the website I gave at the beginning, however this time he didn't make another account but just clicked the "Sign in with Square Enix account" button.
And only then has the free trial actually been initialized.
The website is indeed misleading. You would have thought that upon registration the free trial would immediately start, however that was not the case.

Only reason I have made this post is because many people are obviously having the same problem.
By actually following the notification that the photo I sent is giving, would only lead you to a solution of actually buying the game to be able to play.
There should really be no reason for a website that goes under "Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial" for not making an actual "Free trial" account upon registration.

See when I look at the above image it's the same as every other site you register for. If you have an account log in, if you don't, register and then log in.

The thing is,why isn't the account "Free trial" the moment you register and create your account.Or at least have some sort of indication or a simple button at your Square Enix account management/Mog station to initialize it or at least lead you back to this website.
In my opinion the account should be on "Free trial" upon the moment of registration, otherwise you can't do anything and following the notification of the launcher will only lead you into buying the game.
I figured it out eventually, but it is obvious a bunch of people came to the same problem.
