So of course I'm doing the weeklies for D1-4 normal so I can get my Dark Knight geared adequately, and I notice people dropping like flies early on in D4 against Exdeath. This is weird since it doesn't look like people are stacking high vulnerability debuffs before going out either, and there really isn't a one-hit kill move besides the Doom during phase 1. Then I see both of the healers get knocked out and I realize something terrifying; the enhanced Blizzard III is one-shotting players if they fail the mechanic. Normally I actually see a good number of players simply not bother (or not notice) with the Blizzard III mechanic early on since it does very minimal damage even if you fail it, and as long as you avoid stacking the vulnerability it really doesn't make a difference. What's weird is how sometimes the player will be perfectly fine and it will function like it always has, and I can't seem to tell what is triggering this weird instant death scenario.

It depends on people and their gear, honestly if people move during that attack it's more of a scratch. If people stand still and their gear is awful, based on job, yes it can instantly kill you. It's all about mechanics I would think by know people would move.

Its a bug and it happens at extremely random times and no one knows why it randomly slaughters people. Its wildly inconsistent and can one shot high ilevel tanks, its a weird one.

If you think about same applies to other fights in the Omega raid were moves instantly kill you. Are all those bugs?Quote:

Definitely a bug of some sort, randomly one-shotting people for 35-40k damage is not working as intended.

Not sure. I've seen it happen a handful of times, but haven't really been paying attn beforehand to see what's going on exactly. People claim they are dying without the debuff, so I take them at their word until proven otherwise.
For the meantime, it's weird that nobody has submitted it as a bug in the forum, least not that I can see.
