Been having a number of issues in the last few days - up until now, the game has been smooth as butter, minimal load times/etc.
Now...
- Will have random lag spikes, despite internet being fine.
- Latency will appear to be fine, but NPCs/etc won't load for a few moments after entering a town
- Load screens seem to be taking around 30/40 seconds.
I've reset my connection, flushed DNS, etc - and it's not the internet connection as my partner plays right beside me and doesn't have the same issues. :/
I experience these symptoms when another PC on my network is using all of my bandwidth. Granted, I have very little bandwidth available, and I doubt you're on DSL like me. ;p Still, I would investigate whether or not there is something on either computer eating up resources. Does this issue occur when only you are playing the game, and not your partner? Check Resource Monitor in Windows to see which applications are connected to the Internet, and if anything looks out of the ordinary there.
