Unable to leave FC nor disband it.

Hello. My friend has recently returned to the game after a VERY long break. Her problem is that her old FC is not only dead, but is also an unbreakable trap for her.

Current situation is:
- She is the master of the FC now.
- It is impossible to use the "Leave" button in FC menu to quit the FC.
- There is another "ghost" member in the FC whose name is now "Unable to Retrieve" (perhaps due to character deletion or server transfer, IDK)
- Subcommand is unavailable on this "ghost member", therefore she cannot kick it from the FC.
- FC officer NPC doesn't allow her to disband the FC, because there is "someone else" in the FC.

So she's trapped in a deadlock here.

Is there a way to solve this?

The GM has not been helpful. She filed a request but perhaps she doesn't understand the problem enough to explain clearly to them, the GM sent a reply about being demoted from "Grand master" rank after being inactive for 35 days blah blah and blah blah, which does not address the real problem in question.

UPDATE:

I've been able to solve the problem using the method suggested below by other people.

Then, I noticed that the "Discharge" option became functional for my alt who was promoted to Master rank.

This is how the interface should actually look when you try to kick (discharge) a non-existing FC member. I guess we got rid of the "bug" shown in the first screenshot (Subcommand Not Available) by inviting a new member and promoting it to Master, which broke the initial "deadlock" of authority that had mysteriously occurred during the previous transfer of "master" role.

Make an alt character, have her invite it, promote it, and then she can leave. "Unable to Retrieve" means the character in question sever transferred or was deleted, but I don't know why she can't remove them. Is it possible that there's a private chamber still up?

Wouldn't stop her being able to kick. You can kick members even if their chocobo is stabled or they have private chambers within the estate. It'll just send your chocobo to an NPC for pickup, and your furnishings to the housing person who handles that.

You have to go to the OIC Administrator of the Grand Company(maelstrom, immortal flame, adders) the FC is associated with. He will tell you to remove ALL items and gils from the FC chest. And Relinquish any land the FC might hold(housing). And your friend has to kick "unable to retrieve" and be the only member in the FC.

Cannot. The option is unavailable. Perhaps because the character does not exist, or because it's a tie in hierarchy. The "Unable to retrieve" person is stuck in "Master" rank as well.

Thanks. This sounds like the most viable option. I'll see to sacrificing an ALT for this if the GM is unable to help.

unless you are using all you alts, just delete it once she's out of the FC

Thanks all. Done. I'm glad you guys helped me solve this. The issue had been making my friend pull at her hair for so many days.

Just an update that it seems inviting a new member and promoting it did FIX something that was once broken. My "sacrificed" alt was able to use "discharge" option without problem, unlike my friend's character who was first stuck there.
