Ground Target Suggestion

Would it be possible to be able to macro ground target effects on waymarkers?
For example: /ac "Earthly Star" <Waymark A>

It would be nice to place actions in certain positions on the field without using valuable time to aim in the middle of a fight.

That actually sounds like a brilliant idea. As well as being able to use the mouseover/target/target-of-target/self modifiers for waymark placement (if this isn't already a thing)

Honestly, I wish there was ANY target you could macro ground targets onto, let alone waymarks. It'd be great to be able to target the main tank and drop a Shadow Flare centered on her. Mouse targeting is awkward and controller targeting is worse; the only time a player should be required to do it is if there simply aren't any targets in the area where you want to drop the aoe.

It could be that this feature exists in the game, but if it does I haven't figured it out.

They added this a while ago (standard macro syntax). I tried it out for a while but turned it off in the end as I didn't like the potential for clipping, as I'm such a button masher between GCDs. Ground targeting sucks. I wish there was a non-macro option in settings to make them globally cast on your target, even though it would be a little inconvenient at times.

You can write a macro for it, if you so desire

/ac "Shadow Flare" <t>
For example will drop shadowflare centered on your target, be it friendly or hostile. The only issue you run i to is ability queueing, but if that's a non issue to you... there's your fix

This will come in handy for my caster LBs...I am still very much a newb when it comes to macros, so definitely going to be adding that to mine.
Probably going to do something like that with all my ground target skills so that I'm not messing with my camera all the time to get it right(play on PS4, and targeting with the pad/button combo is annoying as hell when in the middle of a fight).

I wish we could permanently change the default location of it. I always forget to do the R1 + left stick thing until I'm trying to use my one ground targeted ability mid-combat, and the default is usually so bad it's not even visible where it's targeting.

Thank you both; I was unaware of this. It will definitely come in handy. I will confess that I'm not nearly hardcore enough to worry much about GCD clipping - and even if I were, manual targeting is so clumsy it's hard for me to imagine that the time lost by manually targeting could possibly be less than the time lost due to not being able to queue. (Then again, if I COULD imagine it, maybe I'd be a much better player. XD)

I wish they'd add a double click feature really.

In SWTOR if you double clicked a ground targeted skill it would place it at the feet of whomever you were targeting (ally or enemy) this would be SO good here. I really hate placing Asylum sometimes.

I didn't even think of this as a possibility! Placing LB between the mobs rather than centered on one could come in handy!
