SMN and RDM

It's nice that RDM get's a 7k heal and can double cast it two times so it's 14k with 310 gear. So what happened to SMN, The heal spell with that class is useless plus they took away the Pet DOT heal that we used to have. I would really like it if they brought the pet DOT heal back or made the main heal just half as strong as the heal in RDM. I heard someone saying something about how RDM does both magic or whatever but bottom line is it's a DPS with a kick ass heal and SMN can't heal anything anymore. I found i put Mind Materia 6's in my gear and use healer Jewelry I can get my SMN heal to 3k but that makes my DPS suffer a lot.

Firstly, in regards to the mind materia,

Secondly, You would have to use i270 healer jewels since anything above that is job locked.

Thirdly, it's called a heal over time or HOT similar to damage over time or DOT.

Lastly, Yes SMNS should be able to heal their pet. I've been in favor of just letting rouse, cleanse and fully heal your pet. SMNs get to heal their pet again. Its part of their normal rotation. It doesn't increase button bloat and stays off the gcd, unlike sustain. Hell let rouse heal over time instead of directly to full. IDC. The smn and rdm threads are getting ridiculous and SE just needs to give SMN a pet heal before I read 8 more threads about it.

Disclaimer, this is my personal experience.

As an RDM, I rarely rarely rarely touch Vercure in savage, dungeons, etc. The only time I do is when I'm panicking and think I'm going to die through some fault of my own (out of range of healers, made an avoidable mistake, botched a mechanic) for the most part, the only other time I would use Vercure is if I want a swiftcast during a phase change or to give the tank a little breathing room while I dualcast Verraise on a dead healer.

As a SMN, I honestly haven't noticed Sustain being gone outside of wanting to be able solo FATES when I was leveling. Would it be nice if it was back? Yeah. Would I be fine without it? Yeah. Would I like a heal when I have to micromanage a kajillion oGCD's and mana juggle with Ruin 3? Absolutely not.

Under normal circumstances vercure is rarely if ever touched on a RDM in group content. The same with verraise. Your job is to crank out as much dps as possible, not be a backup healer or rezzing people. If you have to rez people in a party then people are making mistakes and the job of everyone is to not make a mistake so that dps such as RDM or SMN or the healers for that matter have to stop what they are doing to rez you. Even healers blow through a lot of mana to rez someone. Are these tools nice to have? Yes and very much so, but the point is you shouldn't have to have to use them. On the other hand if you have the spell it shouldn't fell useless to use. That is Physick for SMN right now and I can agree it needs buffed for them or given a secondary effect for when cast on their summons it heals for a lot more.

For pogression a nice rezzmage is Gold.... More practise and its not that Bad With dualcast....
And its nice in dungeons when the healer kiss the floor... IT rescue some Bad runs... And the lore of rdm is different the from summoner... Rdm has his own Pool to get his mana and so on... So its ok but yes healing the PET would be nice

Both requests have had responses in the last Producer Letter Live. In short:

• Physick healing amount buff: you're simply not supposed to heal well. RDM can heal well because it's got a White Mage lore background.
• Pet dying: pet jobs need to learn to control the pet.

Just give SMN Sustain off the GCD and instant cast. You don't need a heal from what I know most RDM don't even use Vercure that much outside of solo play. Summoner's aren't going to be happy having to micro manage all of their abilities and having to cast a Physick once or twice on there Egi during a fight.

Only thing I actually use vercure for is for having a dual cast before boss pulls in pugs where I don't trust them to give me a 5 second precast tbh

I can't control the tank turning the boss around and cleaving Ifrit-Egi my friend.

I also cannot control the imput delay all pets suffer.

I don't understand why people push so hard against summoners having Sustain back. SPECIALLY people who don't even have lvl 70 summoner yet.

I use a physick macro for my pets, .. but would be nice, if it had a buffed effect on pets... (as a new smn trait)
